Spoiler Alert – You’re Magick

“Magic is the Highest, most Absolute, and most Divine Knowledge of Natural Philosophy, advanced in its works and wonderful operations by a right understanding of the inward and occult virtue of things; so that true Agents being applied to proper Patients, strange and admirable effects will thereby be produced. Whence magicians are profound and diligent searchers into Nature; they, because of their skill, know how to anticipate an effect, the which to the vulgar shall seem to be a miracle.”

King Solomon – 1570’s

Wands, witches, and Harry Potter came to mind for the majority after hearing the magick word. (see what I did there?)

Way back in the first century BCE magick was associated with demons but eventually, both negative and positive understandings of the term surfaced.  Today, magick is socially limited to children. Adults that entertain the subject are said to be suspending their critical thinking.

But with magick being a subject of such fascination with the topic shaping history, is it real or mythical?

My opinion? “You’re a wizard, Harry.”

Define Magick

Magic tricks are illusions performed by stage magicians for entertainment.

Today, magick is the spelling given by Aleister Crowley. He defines magick as the art and science of causing a change in conformity with will. The “k” was added to distinguish between parlor tricks and the innate power of humanity.

The concept of magick has been proposed in various different definitions. Many contemporary scholars regard the magical concept to be so problematic, they reject it altogether.

The majority of us share a generic image of magick as possessing a craft skilled in raising and directing energy from the elements to shape reality.

Typically, the people who employ this craft are known as witches.

But, all magicians, witches, and wizards aside, this post is focused on the magical beings us humans are.  When we’re on a spiritual path, we maintain internal and external goals. Understanding the power we hold in our mind, body, and spirit can support our achievements.

Did you Know you Were Born a Creator?

Reality itself is pretty magical. The fact that a human female can house another human inside her and push all her organs aside is magick. As miraculous as the human body is, there’s a lot that remains mysterious. Not nearly as mysterious as the human mind, however.

Take a look at one of the several studies to show how thoughts can directly influence the sub-atomic world while manipulating matter.

Dr. Masaru Emoto concluded a study with the discovery that our thoughts have a direct impact on the molecules in water. He found beautiful crystals formed in water exposed to positive thoughts and deformed crystals formed in water exposed to negative thoughts.

So if our thoughts can influence water, then our will, thoughts, and beliefs have a direct influence on our bodies. The human body is around 70% water. Amazing, right?

That, in a nutshell, is the power of magick. Our thoughts are the manifestation of magick. We are magick.

Everything is Energy

Let’s reference science using the element of water again. The molecules in water will change form at different speeds. We get ice when they move slow. Water becomes gas at a faster speed. This demonstration revolves around energy.

On a molecular level, the human body is billions + of vibrating atoms. We are nothing more than the fluctuation of energy. Molecules move at such a rapid speed that objects take on a solid structure.

This means that the universe, and all of us, are made of the same ingredients.

There isn’t separation on the molecular level so, in this way, we are actually connected to everything. Whether side by side or miles apart, things are constantly interacting with each other.

Metaphysical fields call this spiritual truth.

Energy creates molecules inside our brains when we have thought. Those molecules influence our cell structure and essentially form the basis of reality. The frequency of our thoughts attracts similar frequencies. Basically, we attract what we send out.

At a molecular level, the vibration frequency of our thoughts undertakes the manifesting process. This influences our soul on a metaphysical plane and finally, in some way manifest in the physical form.

Some know this as the Law of Attraction. Aleister Crowley’s definition of magick being “the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity at will” sounds like the very definition of the Law of Attraction.

Cosmic Laws

A natural phenomenon that governs all actions in our world exists, called the Cosmic Laws or Universal Laws. This includes physical laws – helping us to understand the world around us, as well as metaphysical laws – guidelines for body, mind, and spirit.

Having a basic understanding of the laws allows us to consciously apply them to achieve our desired surroundings. Below are germane laws and sub-laws.

  • The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy – change is the only constant in the universe. This means all persons have within them the power to change their reality no matter where they are in their lives.
  • The Law of Mentalism – all that exists is a thought in the Cosmic Mind. Every thought is a transmutable reality. We can influence matter by our minds. We can create our own reality through our thoughts.
  • Law of Magnetism – everything in the universe vibrates and has its own magnetic field that can be influenced. Unconsciously, our magnetic field affects everything that’s in our physical vicinity.
  • The Law of Perspective – what we experience in our reality is interpretative to our inner beliefs. Life is what we think it is and we can alter it by changing what we think. Laboratory experiments have proved influence over subatomic particles by the mental force or simple observation by physicists.
  • The Law of Attention – also called the Law of Fixation, pertains to energy transmission. We send energy rays to whatever we focus our attention on. Energy follows our mental force and we can gain influence.
  • The Law of Connection – every transmission of energy forms a link between two people or objects. This link will remain indefinitely unless we wish to severe it metaphysically.
  • The Law of Words of Power – some words and mantras are able to change our reality. The energy pattern found in their vibration allows us to access the powers they’ve acquired by others using them throughout the ages. Mantras become more powerful with every use.
  • Law of Vibration – everything moves and vibrates in patterns to a unique vibration frequency. This applies to our thoughts, feelings, and desires. These are known in the ether.
  • Law of Correspondence – what we think and have emotion towards in our conscious and subconscious create corresponding realities. Our 3rd-dimensional world reflects what we hold within. As above, so below.
  • Law of Attraction – what resonates with our own radiation will reflect in our physical world. Like attracts like. What we desire can manifest by the energies of our thoughts, words, emotions, and actions.

Some sub-laws of the Law of Attraction are:

  • Law of Chemical Affinity – also called the Law of Cohesion, referring to the attractive forces between substances of homogenous nature or substances that combine well together.
  • Law of Radiation – energy is continuously moving in some form. Radioactive substances are in the dispersal state and can be directed by our mind.
  • Law of Color – colors are simply a vibration of energy that can be used to attract. They are intriguing and can be seen from far distances.
  • Law of Schools – when we expand our consciousness by evolutionary progress, it’s possible to attract our higher self, other spiritual souls, and what we need to learn.

Employing the Cosmic Laws is a positive direction in our spiritual growth. Mortal opinions or denial of the Cosmic Laws have zero effect on their nature.

“The non-belief in the Law of Gravity does not affect its being, or to cause it to be non-existent. Cosmic laws continue to exist and to function no matter what man knows or believes about them. The Law of Gravity has existed long before its discovery, and it will continue to exist long after man has forgotten about it.“

Power of Suggestion

An experiment blindfolded a man while another man held a lump of burning coal behind his back. He felt the heat getting stronger as the coal moved closer to his body. But instead of making skin contact with the hot coal, he was instead touched with a block of ice.

The anticipation and fear of being burned with the hot coal while sensing its heat tricked his mind into believing he was burned with a lump of hot coal. His skin formed a reaction based on this belief.

A blister formed on his back!

This supports not only that the mind is a powerful thing, but that all experiences are happening within our mind.

5D Mystical Consciousness

“In truth, there is only one mind.”

Erwin Schrodinger, 1933 Physics Nobel Prize Winner

Mystical consciousness is an ultimate reality and insight into hidden truths. Through this purifying transformation, we awaken to our true identity and develop unification with the divine.

This entire process is related to metaphysics, psychology, and magick.

The fifth dimension isn’t an actual place, but rather a state of consciousness. The entirety of the universe is nothing more than vibrating forces of energy that connects everything. Essentially, we realize we are all one entity of intertwined intelligence.

Law of Divine Oneness – everything is in the universe is connected. Our thoughts, words, and actions have a corresponding effect on others. Being aware of this allows us to live our most divine life.

Spiritual intuition of truth transcends ordinary understanding. We gain a direct union of the soul with the ultimate forces of a divinity. Supernatural patrons help us access the power to untainted magick and reach pure ecstasy.

Spending more time in higher consciousness leads to a positive lifestyle. If we are in higher levels of consciousness, our energy will vibrate with a higher frequency and, in turn, attract positive circumstances.

“You are not your body: you are not your brain, not even your mind. You are Spirit. All you have to do is reawaken to the memory, to remember.”

Dr. Brian L. Weiss

Is there a Reason NOT to Believe in Magick?

A wide argument is that science can’t prove that it does exist. But just because science cannot rule something in doesn’t necessarily mean they should rule something out, no?

Dr. Carl Jung once stated, “I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud.”

Of course, for thousands of years now, the knowledge of our magical beings have existed. Jesus, Confucius, and the Buddha have come forward to give back our birthright.

Scare tactics defining magick as the devil’s work included torture and mass murder. Did we not take away from the inquisition that burning the witch is admitting magick’s existence?

We have been conditioned with limiting beliefs and have kept this subject in the superstition, occult, or children’s fiction section for too long.

The placebo effect alone is scientific proof that our thoughts contain power. I think the real question to ask someone who doesn’t believe in magick, is why?

Blessed Be!

Is Something Haunting You?

At one point we probably had fun exploring the darker side of the other-worldly. Halloween especially is the optimum time to get together with a group to tell ghost stories or visit a haunted house. The thrill of this is for entertainment…to a point. What happens when we open our minds to the possibility that these scare tactics aren’t just for a trick or treat? Is something haunting you?

Our obliviation leaves us vulnerable to paranormal and mystical attachments. Sometimes the things that go bump in the night want to get to know us.

Do you Believe in (Black) Magick?

The art of practicing magick has been around since, forever. Practicing magick has become increasingly popular. More witches are coming out of the broom closet. Living in the era of awakening is synonymous with acknowledging our magickal gifts.

Being a witch isn’t like the storybooks depict. Can I turn someone into a frog? Probably not. The worst I’m guilty of is sending a jinx. But throwing dumb-luck someone’s way is mild compared to stirring the cauldron with the crones.

Any ill-willed jerk with $30 can locate a spell caster to do their dirty work. Countless magicians with a diablerie craft are willing to wreak havoc on someone’s personal effects. Misfortune can be wished our way without us being aware.

Also, enchanters all over the world share magickal rituals as solutions for seemingly every problem. Practicing magick is deeply spiritual and incredibly fun. The first taste of mysticism is addicting and triggers the magick awakening.

Performing magick from an egoist or scorned view can be dangerous.

If we aren’t responsible, deceptive spirits can enter with malicious intent. Cooperating with dark spirits is frowned upon, but the dark arts have been choreographing unfortunate endeavors longer than we’ve been here.

Is Baneful Energy Haunting You?

The fact is that physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual influence us. Ultimately, this can cause health imbalances. What’s more, it interferes with alignment to our spiritual powers.

  • work environment
  • personal life
  • being exposed to intense emotional energy
  • environmental sources like toxins, sounds, & chemicals

Repressed dark characteristics can subconsciously attract this type of energy.

Are Negative Thought Forms Haunting You?

Thoughtforms are not actual spirits but temporary beings created in the etheric plane. They survive by feeding off the same frequency that created them.

Since like attracts like, having an aura full of negativity is calling out for more. Once they attach to their host, they induce the thoughts that will feed them.

Is Something Haunting You?

Any distinct thing that seems to have a form of existence is an entity. Paranormal experts use “entity” because aside from the fact that they exist, not much is known about them.

Beings that have a different level of consciousness interact with us all the time. These entities can be from this plane, upper or lower planes, any dimension, or even a different galaxy. Contact with entities range in reasons:

  • a spirit from a past life connection with unresolved issues
  • a traumatized soul in search of comfort
  • a spirit who is lost and seeking direction
  • a negative spirit who’s goal is to stop our spiritual growth
  • intercourse with someone that has an entity attachment

Usually, most people with entities are unaware of the attachment and live their entire lives with them. It’s common for young children, the elderly and animals have entity attachments.

Entities feel threatened and become more active when we begin a spiritual practice. They can jump from one person to the other by close contacts such as hugging or sex.

Attachment spirits refuse to surrender to the death experience. They search for someone vulnerable to attach to. Openings in the energetic field are opportunities for an entity to attach.

Ongoing anger, resentment, and bitterness can attract lower vibing entities. Not to mention, violence, drugs, and alcohol weaken the aura.

Living with an entity mimics those of the entity. Eventually, we start owning its energy and behave out of character.

We assume responsibility for disturbing thoughts and will experience undesired emotional responses. We can mistakenly live life powerless and unaware of dark manipulation.

Definitely, any spiritual attachment of malevolent intent likely prey on highly impressionable individuals.

Signs of a Negative Attachment

  • self-sabotage
  • chronic fatigue
  • sudden onset of aches and pains
  • insomnia
  • suicidal thoughts or behaviors
  • personality changes
  • addictions
  • violent behavior
  • nightmares
  • sudden anxiety
  • persistent negativity
  • difficulties in relationships
  • alienation
  • mood swings

These entities affect what we think, speak, do and feel. Sadly, a lot of attachment or possession is associated with mental illness. In that event, the host is medically treated for such. The victim knows something isn’t quite right inside but can’t find the source.

Hold a Light for the Dark

Altogether, the world is made up of spiritual energies. When we vibrate off of fear, hate, and shame, lower spiritual energies start to notice us. Is something haunting you?

It’s important to realize that we should transmute energies with love and light before releasing them to the universe. Also, it lowers the chance of negative energies floating around.

Highbrations!

The Power of Twin Flames as Lightworkers

“There’s something unusual about us. Something deeply spiritual. The way we fall into one another so naturally like our love was carved of the earth. There are star systems bursting at our fingertips when we touch. We are in tune. Our hearts croon the same old song. The universe planned for us. I know it. I know it.”

Beau Taplin – In Tune

Read Divine Unions.

By now the majority of the spiritual community have heard of Twin Flames and the journey for divine ONEness. Many attempts are made to describe this divine soul connection but to understand fully, one needs to have the personal experience.

It seems to be most agreed that twins are a recursion of the original conscious thought that is divided. One soul in two bodies.

Their souls recognize each other upon meeting, which releases their Kundalini energies. These energies merge, which in turn merge the twins mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

There are unusual benefits of being a Twin Flame that is personal and also for the greater good of humanity. Twin Flames are a type of Lightworker which the world is in need of today.

Feminine Light Aligned with Masculine Energy

When the twins are in a harmonious stage, they’re pulled together magnetically. The twins are perfect compliments of the other and they mirror each other perfectly.

Twin Flames are incarnated on Earth today for a few purposes. The most obvious is so they may experience unconditional true love but also during their journey, they get to clear their past lives karma and buried traumas.

The Twin Flame journey isn’t confined to personal gain though. They are also here to share their gifts with humanity. Twin Flame love raises the Earth’s vibration as well as the company around them.

What is a Lightworker?

Read How Fear Ruins your Best Life.

Irksome thoughts surround the term “lightworker”. Not all are on board with others believing they go beyond basic human abilities. Having an understanding of what a Lightworker is might change these opinions. We all possess gifts and abilities but not all of us tap into them. Go within, be still, and believe.

“Lightworker is a person driven and motivated to do work which makes the world a better place, improves people’s lives, and/or elevates people to a higher level of consciousness.” – Wictionary

The Lightworker’s mission is to help humanity transition into the New World by spreading their collective knowledge of expanded awareness. Lightworker’s are actively shifting their energy and the energies of those around them for a worldwide improvement.

Lightworkers devote their path to using their magickal energy of inner light to dispel the darkness. These individuals channel energy for healing, bless others, protect, and emit a high frequency of love to raise humanity’s vibration. Lightworkers can transmute darkness into light.

Lightworker’s inner growth is enhanced. They are always learning new skills and integrating new lessons.

Most likely, these individuals have experienced hardships. Drama and trauma are common to have shown up in their lives so they can understand the darkness in order to lead others out of it.

A Lightworkers mission and journey are divinely guided.

Types of Lightworkers

Read 17 Ways Lightworkers Can Shine.

Not all Lightworkers are the same. Lightworkers share their unique special gifts with the world with the shared goal of unification. Lightworkers use their knowledge and special skills for the goodness of humanity. Some different types of Lightworkers include:

  • twin flames
  • empaths
  • grid workers
  • healers
  • environment/animal protectors
  • timeline workers
  • future seers
  • frequency workers
  • blueprint workers
  • messengers
  • astral travel workers
  • wayshowers
  • active blueprint weavers
  • saviors

The above list isn’t exhaustive. For more detail and an understanding of the titles and duties these Lightworkers hold, I would recommend fractalenlightenment.com9-types-lightworkers for better understanding.

What Exactly is Light?

Light or visible light that humans can perceive is electromagnetic radiation within the electromagnetic spectrum. Visible light is defined as having wavelengths. In physics, light sometimes refers to electromagnetic radiation of any wavelength whether its visible or not. This is what we imagine when we hear the phrase, “shine your light”.

Our bodies emit a characteristic spectrum of radiation. Sunlight is the thermal source radiation emitted by the Sun. The glowing solid particles in flames are a common thermal light source radiating mostly in the infrared.

In a metaphysical sense, light has a non-physics meaning. Light is the spiritual energy of vibration. When we send someone light or radiate our light, this is what we are sending – a vibration of love. Which actually the energy in the universe, all of the creation.

While light and energy are not the same things, energy is information that vibrates. The human energy field, or aura, is a subtle energy that can’t be measured. This is our field that links us to an indivisible whole of the cosmos. Our physical bodies connect to these energy fields by meridians and chakras. Energy medicine lightworkers can sense this energy.

Shining our light means using our inner divine light that we see in our third eye and we use our intention to transmute lower energies and send to others for healing.

The definition of ourselves can be telling through our beliefs and what we value. Our spiritual energy links us to life’s purpose which is ultimately to contribute to the greater good of humanity.

The Special aspect of Twin Lightworkers

Twin Flames aren’t just the lucky chosen ones that get to spend life on Earth with their perfect partner in bliss and harmony. Twins possess abilities for the greater good of humanity and they are on a divine mission.

Twin Flame’s are Lightworkers with a unique specialty. Their connection is powerful and transformative. Twin Flames channel love through our source as love which in turn, creates miracles.

We will all reach the level of vibration required to unlock our higher selves when we expand our spiritual development. Unlocking our light bodies gives us a greater connection to our intuition, higher consciousness, and our cosmic energies.

As the twins grow in their personal spiritual development, they become passionate about life. They each begin to live mostly from their hearts. Their love energy naturally radiates out to all the people and situations they come in contact with. This contagious event is reflected, helping others expand their own hearts.

We unconsciously imitate the emotions of other people. As in the event a stranger smiles at us and we automatically smile back. When we do this, we come to feel the emotion of happiness. Twins are experts at emotional movement between their light beam and those around them.

A Twin Flame lightworker has had a tough time uncovering their personal power as lightworkers. The prerequisites to this title included clearing and dealing with major karmic debts.

Because twins are the recursion of the original conscious thought, together they release one of the universe’s greatest powers – zero point energy. This is the energy that remains in a system when all other energy is removed.

Combined with clearing their karmic debts this produces absolutely neutral energy which in turn, can restore the energetic imbalance on the planet.

Now is the time for twins to unite because when Twin Flames are in alignment, their beam 10,000 times more light than we do alone.

Twin Flame Journey Activation

The event of meeting our Twin Flame activates a part of us that is vital for our spiritual growth and development.

The TF journey has several stages:

  • longing for the one
  • meeting our counterpart
  • blissful love
  • drama and turmoil
  • separation
  • runner/chaser phase
  • union

The beginning of the separation when the flame fizzles is the start of a different form of light work.

No contact usually accompanies separation. Suffering alone in the darkness of a broken heart cries out for the light. This gives them time to reflect on past relationships and how none of those were fulfilling. All those other relationships were lessons preparing them for their holy mission.

We don’t have the capability to unsee or unlearn something. Going from having our twin in our life to losing them highlights how our twin accelerates our growth and power.

The two souls that make up a Twin Flame connection are designed to work in tandem in all areas of this human experience. Twins are the epitome of Yin and Yang. They perfectly balance each other.

Overcoming the loss of our twin will reap the ultimate reward. After both twins have learned the lessons and worked through the pain, then they are ready for the union.

Necessary TF Upeahaval

Before the separation phase of the TF journey, they go through major upheaval and drama. This is necessary for their journey of self-love and growth. There can’t be changed if there isn’t chaos that provokes it.

When we are ready to endure chaos is when the universe delivers our twin. Just as any Lightworker is conditioned with traumas and misfortune, so are Twin Flames.

Twins trigger buried wounds in each other to surface for healing. Past life traumas, childhood wounds, and suppressed emotions are all being exposed at this time. Mainly through love related painful experiences. This was conditioning the twin’s heart chakras to evolve before the meeting.

A spiritual awakening is triggered in one of the twins when they meet. This is usually the feminine twin. Being oblivious to what is happening with an awakening simultaneously is a recipe for turmoil.

This experience is for the TF evolution. New energies will come into their lives after their healing and they advance in their development. Clarity and higher perspectives are achieved to prepare them for their mission as Lightworkers.

Written in the Stars

After the twins heal their traumas and come back in a union, they rise up in their mental body and their experience is coded in their conscious mind. Together the twins are a powerful duo for the larger scheme of things.

Twin Flames experience something different than other relationships. They feel a strong pull to the other that’s not easily articulated through words. Along with this, the twins bond can be felt in their heart chakras with a warm sensation when they think of the other.

Twin’s restore faith through their passion, love, and twinergy that they radiate to the world. Mother Earth’s vibration frequency raises following society’s that have caught energy balls of unconditional love from the twins. They are an inspiration.

They’ve came to Earth at this time to be of service of others. The Creator has employed them with a divine plan.

Highest of Vibrations!

Darker Enchantment: Dark Night of the Soul

Lack of being prepared for a spiritual shift caused even more distress when I settled into a form of spiritual depression called dark night of the soul. This attempts to describe a period of spiritual emptiness where we feel totally out of synch with the divine.

Descriptive words can’t do the sensation of the dark night of the soul justice. Unless the emotions are felt through an actual experience, description doesn’t deliver the severity of loss of spirit.

We have lost the meaning of life. We are in a state of melancholy lacking all motivation for everything we perceive. The outside world impresses our appearance to depression, and we easily identify with the sensation of depression within.

While the dark night of the soul is as frightening and challenging as the name suggests, the experience reaps the most beneficial reward.

Forcing us to look behind our own identity and into our darkest fears and insecurities, the dark night is the map to get to the infinite light of our being.

As the saying goes, “When we experience the dark night, there is always a light day that follows.”

To anyone experiencing the dark night, I would say, congratulations! Life is about to change.

Introduced by St. John of the Cross

The term, Dark Night of the Soul was the main idea in a poem written by St. John of the Cross. St. John’s poem, The Dark Night, narrates his soul’s journey to a union with God.

St. John doesn’t highlight the difficulties of life in general but two necessary purges on the path to the divine. The first being a purgation of the sensory/sensitive part of the soul and the second of the spiritual part. St. John furthered documented about his personal experience with the dark night in a book series titled Ascent to Mount Carmel.

This term doesn’t belong to any certain religion and has evolved over a period of time to hold many meanings. Essentially, its a period of darkness that results in eventual spiritual growth because the destination to God is unknowable.

His poem’s thesis is the joyful rewards of being guided to God. Making the moral of the experience that our unknowable path of pain and fear leads to greater transformation.

The dark night of the soul is quite famous.

  • Van Morrison writes about the dark night of the soul in a number of his songs.
    • Tore Down a la Rimbaud on A Sense of Wonder and
    • Give Me My Rapture on Poetic Champions Compose
    • It’s also the inspiration for the title of the lead release of his 2019 album, Three Chords & the Truth
  • Stephen King makes a reference to the F. Scott Fitzgerald usage in his novel, Insomnia
    • referenced to in his short story, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption
  • Spanish singer, Rosalía, released a single of a version of the poem Dark Night of the Soul
  • Canadian singer, Loreena McKennitt, sung the poem to music on her album, The Mask and Mirror
  • Composer Ola Gjeilo wrote a fourteen-minute long SATB choral setting accompanied by piano and string quartet of the English translation of the poem

Energy Update

Our current situation is extremely disappointing, we feel lost, and we have fallen into isolation. This is where we disconnect from life.

Our family and friends are concerned while watching us fall into this depression and share their thoughts with us.

At this point, we may not be aware that this isn’t a normal depressive state and spiritual transformation accompanies this process. We start believing that we have a psychological disruption, increasing the self asked question, “what is wrong with me?”

Many times there is a trigger responsible for the dark night.

  • a shocking or sudden death of a young spouse or child
  • a crisis shattering your meaning for life
  • losing our livelihood
  • sudden spiritual awakening

Any nature of events above can be foreshadowing a life-altering spiritual growth.

Is this Familiar?

The changed behaviors we experience during the dark night of the soul are easily mistaken for the psychological, biological, and neurological effects of depression.

  • deep sadness towards humanity as a whole
  • identity crisis
  • feeling emptiness
  • feeling betrayed by life
  • lacking interest
  • craving solitude
  • limiting beliefs towards worthiness
  • lacking passion towards anything anymore/”I don’t care” attitude
  • dying will power
  • experiencing an existential crisis
  • feelings of shame and non-deserving
  • experiencing an ego-death, a rebirth, and an identity change
  • nightmares and past life memories
  • feeling like we are on the wrong planet
  • sudden food intolerances
  • pain from past differences resurface
  • buried memories resurface
  • hot/cold energies with tingles move through our bodies

It’s not uncommon to have reoccurring visits from the dark night. Sometimes we have to do things over for specific reasons tailored to our own individual.

Embracing the phase we’re in allows us to learn the lesson needed in order to transform. Embracing the dark night seems like the opposite of where we want to be but this is necessary to pull us out of the emotions we are in.

We feel like we’ve been left in the dark.

Our Dark Night is Our Time to Shine

The pain we experience from the dark night will leave us asking, “why me?” as if we’ve done something wrong and this was delivered to us from the Lords of Karma. This pain often includes many lifetime’s worth of traumas and repressed emotions.

It’s difficult to understand that this experience is actually gifted to us from the universe so that we may be aware of our emotional blockages and address them to take appropriate measures for clearing them forevermore.

When we react with constant anger towards others our world will crumble. When we step into our divine truth of love and light, our world becomes fortunate.

Being aware of our spirit, our soul and our true self sends us help to demolish our old lives. Rejecting this change will result in the dark night of the soul.

Tower Moment

We are being shown what darkness is lingering inside of us. Our shattered soul needs attention to repairs.

We are also being shown that we’re not who we think we are. It reveals truths about ourselves that we don’t want to see and forces us to question our own nature.

The dark night of the soul wakes us up to the truth: we are divine spirits that are on a human experience. Now we are aware of the illusions of the world and our only option is to accept that we have a greater purpose in life than to play along with the lies we are conditioned with.

We now partner up with the divine and face our shadow self. Divinely guided, we clear our traumas.

The dark night of the soul is a wonderful teacher and we can ask specifically what we need to learn. When we give ourselves permission to feel the pain we can then release it and transform.

Egoist Reality

In our energetic reality, creating a proper evolutionary framework is confusing. Our ego identity is using any source to convince us that the ego and our identity are the same.

After our beliefs are challenged and our ego shattered, how could we not feel and lost on which way to go now?

Our frightened ego is reiterating to us to cling on to our old reality when we are moving into the state of non- attachment. This doesn’t just include material things, but every mental or emotional investment. Refusal to adapt to and release what is not serving us will keep us in limitation.

Identifying with our ego-self results in us becoming disconnected from our inner spirit.

Healing Modalities

All dark night experiences are unique to each so there isn’t a definite time frame of the process or rules of what should or should not be done. Keeping in mind that it is here because we need to heal to grow, we should not avoid it.

“The cure for the pain is the pain.”

– Rumi

Coping with the dark night of the soul is challenging. The best thing is to get out of our own way and instead show up for ourselves. Honoring the saying, misery loves company should be avoided and instead we should accept this transformation with gratitude.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a magick potion available to skip to the end and feel better. However, taking action in our own healing plan with some exercises can be beneficial.

The below list is in no way suggestions for “cures” for the dark night, simply to aid in alleviating symptoms.

  • avoid numbing the pain
  • speak to a spiritual coach, counselor, or a trusted friend
  • make space for what is asking to be acknowledged
  • support mental/emotional well-being with the natural healing properties of essential oils
  • raise vibration with sound therapy
  • use sound therapy benefits of healing, stress relief, and destroying negative beliefs
  • use healing crystals
  • color therapy
  • many different meditation practices
  • journaling
  • shadow work

Some don’t believe in holistic medicines and some don’t understand how it’s helpful. Some flat out think its nonsense and refuse to try. They are not necessarily wrong, and everyone has the prerogative of free will.

The fact is that some things simply do not work for some people but do for others. Or maybe we aren’t able to gather the resources needed for the suggestions above. Maybe skipping all of them and using a practice that better suited for someone is the deal.

The above suggestions are tried and true methods from my personal experience. In any event, when in regards to a journey within, having a closed mind is more damaging.

Be Honest

Navigating through the dark night of the soul will require honest introspection and acceptance. We are left with a new perspective of life, connecting to resources that help illuminate our forward path.

If we are truly open to change, we need to be completely honest with ourselves.

We will never leave where we are until we are honest with ourselves as to where we want to be. This decision is ours and ours alone. We have to do exactly what is best for us and our lives, not what’s best for anyone else.

Keep Courage

Healing inner wounds and adapting to life as our paradigm shifts is not easy. Unless we avoid the situation and pretend that it doesn’t exist, we have to face it head-on. Even by that practice, it will persist eventually.

Avoiding our shadow or the inner work chances an unexpected visit from our shadow in the future showing a more intense personality.

  • continuous lies to ourselves and others
  • self-loathing
  • random bursts of anger
  • obsessive behaviors
  • self-victimization
  • mental/emotional manipulation
  • addictions
  • suicidal tendencies
  • paranoia
  • depression
  • unhealthy sexual behaviors
  • unstable relationships

If we surrender and accept what we can’t change, we allow ourselves to release what no longer serves us. This makes room for high vibrational situations to come to us.

We may also learn things about ourselves we didn’t know. We heal buried traumas, we heal past karma, we heal emotional issues, and we physically feel lighter.

New Neurological Connections

At the turning point of our lives, we will feel emotionally unbalanced. Our soul is reaching out asking us to go deep within to reconnect. Spiritually we are being called to explore the essence of our soul.

Recapitulation will require revisiting past situations. Surfacing emotions can include shame, guilt or fear but during this time we release the energetic drain of our experiences.

This is a transformation. One day we notice our empowered self. We take responsibility for our lives and destroyed the victim-consciousness.

We become happier. We enjoy life more. We conquered our demons.

Love

Running from problems that should be fixed is never a good idea. Accepting, communicating, appreciating, and forgiveness all pave the way to love.

Often what we see depends on what we are looking for. Making a habit of finding something positive in every situation creates the energy for positive things to come.

Appreciating the present moment may surprise us with the realization that our great parts are often lined with little things, even in the dark. This, in turn, will motivate us to be on the lookout for the light of us moving forward.

The Yin & Yang of TF

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

– Lao Tzu

Twin Flames, also known as “mirrored souls” are said to be one soul in two bodies. The purpose of this is to experience duality and to get the modern world of romantic relationships back to unconditional love.

Once believed that humanity could benefit higher vibrations radiating off of the twins, they volunteered to inspire and uplift the earth’s cosmic super consciousness energy field. They each have specific duties.

Law of Gender

Although each relationship is unique, the general events of the Twin Flame journey plays out in certain stages: Meet, fall in love, the honeymoon phase, turmoil & chaos, separation, healing, and finally, union.

It seems in this time period that most twins are in the separation phase of their journey.

To achieve wholeness, the twins must integrate the masculine and feminine energies. It’s not possible to measure this process with time as its twin couple unique. We can dedicate ourselves to the inner work and use exercises to relieve the emotional pain.

To begin to unify the masculine and feminine energies, we must understand that we all possess both energies, along with positive and negative poles inside our body and consciousness. Every male has the components of female energy within his body and specific feminine principles in his Lightbody, and vice versa.

Everything is created from the Law of Gender.

When we live in harmony with the Law of Gender we manifest profound spiritual healing. Karmic burdens and outdated beliefs can be released quicker allowing a quicker union.

Open & Clear Sacred Crystal Heart

Now seems like a good time to explore and understand the feelings and language communicating directly with the divine. Functions of the heart complex organ include feeling energies. This is where we will feel our unconditional love.

Maybe the most important aspect of awakening is when we learn to open our crystal heart. We will visit a wide range of emotional spectrums during this time because we aim to resolve emotional conflicts.

Our sacred crystal heart is where we receive inner wisdom of cellular knowledge. Humanity is facing a crisis of consciousness from a lack of love as a whole. If we open our sacred crystal heart, we increase knowledge through an energetic balance to provide more spiritual healing to the world.

Divine Feminine (DF)

The merging of The Great Father and the Great Mother is divine wholeness.

The Divine Feminine is often referred to as the DF. Most likely, she awakens shortly after meeting her twin. The DM’s soul recognized its counterpart and triggered her spiritual awakening.

The DF will most likely develop a strong connection with the spiritual world if she doesn’t have one already. It is important to balance out the feminine and masculine energies in order to reach union. Mastering the physical world of career and finances is the goal of the DF.

Divine Masculine (DM)

The Divine Masculine (DM) is grounded, sensible, and wise. He has great structure with the material world and makes logical decisions.

It’s common for the DM to reject inner trauma. Social conditioning has taught us that masculine energy is penalized for being highly emotional. Therefore the DM isn’t skilled in accessing deep feelings or identify any.

If we don’t have contact with our twin we can’t help them in person. But we can help our twin by doing our own inner work. We are the same soul, right?

Inner Healing & Clearing

Waiting around for union can be a long process. In the meantime, we have to make ourselves the number one priority. We have to go within and really explore.

While journeying within ourselves, keep in mind that this is much more than healing to prepare for union. We heal our emotional bodies to step into the best versions of ourselves. We gain heart-based qualities of expressing compassion, empathy, and forgiveness towards others.

If we hold one gender as higher importance we set ourselves up for failure in our personal relationships. When masculine’s project hatred towards feminines it can destroy their inner feminine. Same for the feminine’s that project hatred towards masculine’s, they destroy their inner masculine.

We project our unconscious feelings about ourselves onto others. Our souls are begging for the inner work needed to transcend. During separation, we can build a strong emotional and spiritual core by healing painful patterns.

Returning to our childhood to observe the memories that formed our belief system can expose deep perceptions. Addressing where we hold painful conflict or emotional trauma we can begin to decode the buried patterns.

Uniting the qualities of gender roles is achievable. By studying their aspects we can synthesize the polarities back into neutral or unity. By doing this we are fulfilling our divine purpose.

Tweak our Sex Life

When we engage in sexual intimacy, we produce natural heart-based emotions. Linking the emotional energetic circuitry to our physical intimacy is another piece of us called the pericardium channel. Our sensory experiences during expressions of love will be blocked if we don’t have an open heart.

Aside from our inner work during separation, we need to practice self-care and allow ourselves a social life. This includes entertaining a casual partner if we wish. We are not expected to save ourselves for our twin in hopes that their free will leads them back to us. The DF probably knows her twin is most likely in an active karmic situation right now.

I am in no way suggesting that anyone conduct an orgy of partners while they’re single. I am in no way suggesting that anyone compromise their self-respect and remain single forever.

I am suggesting to believe your worth and never settle for crumbs.

For those that choose to engage in other partners, know that sex without love disrupts the emotional bond and heart connection and can result in energetic blockages around the pericardium.

Essentially, sex without a heart connection creates pericardial imbalances that commonly lead to destructive relationship patterns.

Negative vibrations accumulate over time and block our soul emotional body through the heart center. The mental and emotional experience is influenced by the pericardium.

Be Open to # Signs

Most twins experience reoccurring number sequences. The most common is 111, or 1111.

A strong sign of a twin flame union is when we see the number 22, which represents duality – Yin, & Yang. Two becoming one and the activation of our DNA, healing and clearing each other is also indicated.

22 tells us that two parallel events are aligned and the universe is pulling twin flames closer to each other.

We should be mindful to show our gratitude to the universe for the signs and in turn experience more of them.

Healing & Harmonizing

Love is the strongest healing and harmonizing force available on this planet. We learn that true love exists for ourselves and mirrors on the external.

The natural flow to be expressed will find a solution to our problems when we surrender. Worrying about a situation instead of living in the here and now is 3D behavior.

Making ourselves a priority isn’t selfish, it’s actually recommended. Employing self-care and inner work and releasing anything else to the universe leaves us in a higher vibration, heals our twin, and aligns us closer to our union.

The divine is ONE with the forces of love.

Hello, Shadow Self

“The most dangerous psychological mistake is projection of the shadow onto others: this is the root of almost all conflicts.”

– Carl Jung

In an energetic reality that influence each other, our soul and mind exist in our consciousness. At any given time we are impacting the planet’s vibration and also shaping our soul and spirit. Our thoughts have a great impact on others, as well as directly impacting the quality of light and frequency that our consciousness directs.

Self-discovery holds hands with spiritual awakening. We start a journey to live more authentically and see positivity in all. However, silently we all possess thoughts, feelings, and fantasies that we are too embarrassed to let be known. We keep shameful experiences quiet and we don’t want to be labeled selfish, narcissistic, or intrusive to protect our self-image.

This is because social conditioning taught us that these aspects of our character are unacceptable.

Rejecting our dark parts doesn’t actually eliminate them, instead, they get stored in our unconscious. This side of our personality is known as our shadow self. As we pretend darker traits don’t exist we risk projecting them on others.

Are you ready to meet your shadow self?

Jungian Psychology

Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, and psychoanalyst founded analytical psychology. He influenced psychiatry, anthropology, archaeology, literature, philosophy, and religious studies.

Carl Jung refers to the shadow self as the unconscious aspect of our personality. Due to the majority of us rejecting undesirable parts of ourselves, our shadow side is labeled negative. However, we can also bury positive aspects.

Carl Jung teaches that our irrational shadow self is prone to psychological projection. This means when other’s display the unfavorable parts of us, we, in turn, show personal inferiority. We perceive our shadow as a moral deficiency in others because we haven’t claimed it in us yet.

Mrs. Shadow, Mr. Hyde

Carl Jung says when we hide our shadow self, it then has a free hand and can bring about some other situation characteristic of its power.

“Everyone carries a shadow,” Jung wrote, “and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. It may be (in part) one’s link to more primitive animal instincts, which are superseded during early childhood by the conscious mind.”

A great example of this is in Robert Louis Stevenson’s, Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde which touches on the complexities of science and the duplicity of human nature.

Dr. Henry Jekyll has struggled to repress urges that were not society accepting most of his life. He tests the theory of man having two sides – good and evil, by developing a potion to separate the two in hopes of becoming liberated. By doing this he becomes Mr. Hyde, who is mysterious and violent. Over time, Mr. Hyde becomes more powerful.

Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde demonstrates the duality of human nature in that by denying dark traits and forcing them to our unconscious mind, it can result in developing a Mr. Hyde type aspect to our character.

Shadow Work

“Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. If an inferiority is conscious, one always has a chance to correct it. Furthermore, it is constantly in contact with other interests, so that it is continually subjected to modifications. But if it is repressed and isolated from consciousness, it never gets corrected.“

– Carl Jung, Psychology and Religion

Positive thoughts emanate intensely bright colors of high-frequency light, sound waves, and shift within a spectrum of colors throughout the energy field. Spiritually strong people have a strong inner light built upon a foundation of a focused mind and heart. Shining our inner light for others to absorb around us, we are a shining influence on humanity.

We emit dense, dull colors of low vibrational light and sound waves with our negative thoughts. In a constant state of distorted vibration, we litter our energy field with negative spirits and can block ourselves from obtaining bright light.

We all have a shadow self even if we are unaware of it. Our shadow is where our deepest wounds live that influence our self-esteem. By taking inventory of what we discover we can acknowledge, accept and own all the pieces of us. This is a great thing when our shadow always seems to be in low vibrational situations and loses her temper.

If we allow ourselves to feel and acknowledge negative emotions, they quiet down inside us. Unchecked negative behaviors will build in anxiety or pain and eventually reaching maximum capacity. When this happens, our negativity has amplified to be projected onto others around us.

Once this negative connection is made, emotions can be carried out into even more destructive levels. The stronger negative thoughts become inside our subconscious, the greater the chance we will act out these destructive behaviors. It’s challenging to choose our reactions and have clarity in our own belief systems when we are in a high level of rage.

Shadow work is the process of exploring, acknowledging, and accepting all of us, including those shameful pieces. Our shadow teaches us what we are suppressing and why we sometimes express self-destructive behavior.

Through shadow work, we can make peace with past experiences and forgive ourselves for what’s done. We let go of ill feelings or grudges. We can learn to love ourselves more and love life.

Healing Practices

The purpose of doing shadow work is to find and heal wounds. When we do this type of healing work, we need to be prepared for the emotional outcome. The following sections are all great ways to alleviate any issue that we discover along our process.

Aromatherapy, meditation, sound therapy, and deep breathing all offer beneficial energy for us to use in times of healing. When we begin our relationship with our shadow on a positive note and clear thinking, we can navigate through the journey knowing divine energies are supporting us.

Ground & Center

When we’re ungrounded, our energy body will be very unstable. Our basic roots, financial stability, and connection to the material world are all related to our root chakra.

Regularly eating veggies or proteins, imaging our feet connecting roots into the earth, and being near or using water are ways to stay grounded.

To get our body ready to let the energy flow, we should take a deep inhalation through the nose, separating our arms while stretching one above our head with a flat palm, and stretch the other arm down, again flattening our hand. As long as it’s comfortable in this position, we can give our body a nice stretch.

Since attention is essential for learning, being centered should be the first step. When we are centered, our attention is increased.

The technique of centering is to focus on our energy, bringing it inward to our center. This gives us a sense of peace and stability. I like to close my eyes while doing this to concentrate more thoroughly. Inhaling through the nose if comfortable, and exhaling through the mouth.

  • Focus on slow, steady breathing while counting to four on the inhalation. On the exhale it will induce a relaxed state.
  • Visualize and focus the energy inward to our physical center of gravity, just below the navel, while still focusing on our breathing.
  • Visualize inhaling bright, positive energy and on the exhale, visualize releasing dark, negative energy.

This is a good technique to use for any time we feel stressed to help bring back balance and induce relaxation.

Using intuition to know when the exercise is complete, we can move on to perform our next activity with clearer thinking.

Write About It

As I adjusted to spiritual awakening my shadow made herself known. Every exchange headed to a malicious disagreement that actively eliminated the company I kept. I broke down finally and I listed every harsh word and action I’ve delivered. I started with the most shameful and held the heaviest guilt.

Dedicating a journal to our shadow self is a practical and organized way to get our feelings outside of our minds. This type of healing work is user-specific and the technique should be felt through intuition. Pulling out memories we chose to forget is beneficially healing, and just as uncomfortable as it sounds.

When we quiet down our minds while allowing ourselves to relive past painful memories it becomes easier to recall those details we have forgotten. Replaying the scene in our mind’s eye while documenting it creates a visual to focus on one specific event. Allowing ourselves to feel those painful feelings, we can accept what is, is, and releasing them, forevermore.

When writing our feelings we can let them just flow out of us, almost like automatic writing. List the emotions we are experiencing with any thoughts that suddenly appear. It’s ok if it doesn’t make sense because this is basically role call. Once they are on paper we can focus on something catching our attention.

Symbolic Release

Rituals have been a tradition in many cultures for many years for many things. Releasing painful or challenging events by ritual is something worth looking into. After releasing heavy energies we feel lighter, clean, and the whole experience is symbolic.

Fire is a powerful element having the ability to transform, transmute, and destroy.

A burning ceremony is becoming increasingly popular. Writing down our clear intention to release what is no longer serving us, we hand it over to the universe by burning our petition paper.

Water is another great way to release something. Using the same intention as above, we can throw our paper or symbolic representation of our intention into running water, or in a bowl of water until disintegrated, and then finally feeding it to nature by watering a tree or plant.

Candle Ceremony

A simple candle ceremony can include a black candle and something to represent what we’re releasing.

Start by grounding and casting a circle for protection if feel guided. Call in any supportive guides, or higher beings we’re connected with to join the circle.

Using a safety pin or something of the like to carve the candle with any symbols or words to support our thoughts of what we wish the candle to do. An example would be if it’s releasing the memories we can simply carve ‘Release’ on it.

Or releasing an emotion, we can carve the word of the emotion into the candle. We should start from the center carving upwards when using a taper candle.

Meditating on what no longer serves us for a few minutes before can anchor our intention stronger in our mind’s eye. We want the intention to be as clear as possible.

If desired, we can also jot our intention on a piece of paper for extra support of the release. Fold the intention paper and use the candle’s flame to ignite it. We should always have a fireproof container to drop it into nearby. I use my cauldron, but any fire resistant receptible will do.

Clearing Our Energy

Regularly eliminating unwanted or negative vibes from ourselves and our environment is a good practice. We can also remove negative energy from objects and other people.

The better we understand our own energy, the more we increase our intuition. Being free of other energies can help us make decisions that are for our greatest good.

When we feel joyful, happy, and inspired, we are in good vibrational energy. Feeling sad, angry, and stressed are lower vibrations, and that is letting us know it’s time to cleanse.

We can absorb energies and vibes from others which will affect our whole mood.

An energy ritual keeps us in control of our own vibe.

Aromatherapy

Diffusing essential oils is beneficial for us and our environment. Before deep emotional exercises, aromatherapy can ease us into relaxation and make it easier to keep a positive mind.

Diffusers are very home decor and add beauty to our space and set the scene.

While lavender is really popular, it is more a cultivating oil because it soothes and heals. It’s said that rosemary is great for energy clearing.

Please note that rosemary should not be used by pregnant women.

Incense comes in many forms these days and there are many scents to choose from. Long sticks, short sticks, cones, or resin, anyway we burn incense it instantly transforms our area.

Incense burners are beautiful visuals added to every room. I have shamelessly added one to every room in my home.

Sound Therapy

Tibetan singing bowls have many purposes, including stress reduction and pain relief.

Its claimed that the vibrations of a singing bowl can produce beneficial changes in our body by reducing stress, and balancing out our body’s energy system.

Tibetan singing bowls can also stimulate the immune system and produce beneficial changes in brain waves.

Knowing all the Pieces of Us

Exploring the deep insights that can be drawn from our personal introspection holds a pure observation of our external existence. Exercising mental practices can help grow a strong inner core and spiritual foundation when we develop observer consciousness.

It’s said that the truth is what sets us free, as difficult as it may be. We cannot reject the very nature of what and who we are as spiritual beings and must recognize that we are sharing this earth which means sharing our love and light and all we project into this world.

We need to integrate all of our true selves and bring it back into balance. Hopefully, we will be able to help heal the true heart of humanity.

Growth by Self-Discovery

Spirituality is explored in our own way on a personal quest and is collective in spirit. We see spirituality as synonymous with searching for meaning and direction in life. Spiritual awakening is what takes place once we realize that life is divinely inspired and we notice our own personally connected spiritual experiences. This is where we decide on emancipation from the illusions we are conditioned with and we discover our true self.

Now that we identified our desire for spiritual development, what do we do next? We find our paramount reason for being by incorporating personal growth and transformation.

Finding Who We Are

Finding oneself has different stages. Essentially, this is where we attempt to determine how we feel about spiritual subjects, and how we feel within, rather than following the opinions of family, friends, or peer pressure to be socially accepted.

Spiritual awakening is our transition to new levels of awareness, sometimes referred to as self-realization. When we don’t have a strong sense of ourself it’s easy to be influenced to live life the way others think we should. There are a few big definitions of self-realization. It’s generally defined by the activation of one’s full potential. Ultimately, self-realization is discovering the answer to the foundational question, “Who am I?”

Discovering ourselves is the challenge of a lifetime. To answer the question, “Who am I?” we have to learn to listen to our own thoughts but first find our own thoughts. Taking a look back at our life journey thus far, we need to evaluate what we would eliminate for the future.

This includes the company we keep who are no longer vibrating on our level and the mindless activities that don’t serve our greatest good. Maybe we desire a change in our job by asking for the raise we know we deserve or changing the job completely to something meaningful. We need to expose more of our thoughts in our relationships despite the possibility of offending others.

When answering the question “Who am I?” we need to understand our desires and have the courage to move fearlessly in that direction.

Process of Discovering Ourself

A fundamental component of personal growth is self-discovery. Self-discovery is a process wherein we examine who we are by reviewing our thoughts, words, actions, and character as a whole. We learn about our individual personality, our beliefs, and our natural preferences. Our goal is to uncover our true potential and our purpose in this life. This knowledge will enable us to thrive in all situations and experiences to come.

It will take some time to discover who we are. When we are dedicated to going through a series of activities and exercises for self-discovery, we are making a positive choice for ourselves that will be worth the work.

This form of personal analysis allows us to align with who we wish to be.

Becoming Aware of Ourself

Do we actually know why we have certain behaviors? The idea behind our decisions? Our worth for ourselves and the people around us?

An essential skill for anyone interested in authentic personal development is self-awareness. Self-awareness sets the foundation for emotional intelligence and mature adulthood. We grow and transform through this process.

Self-awareness is truly a skill to develop. When we begin to learn something new, at first it may be difficult. Being discouraged from the discomfort, we tend to avoid even trying a new skill. This is why most of us never develop self-awareness.

Awareness is knowing what’s going on around us but self-awareness is knowing what’s going on within us. This isn’t just knowing ourself, it’s gaining the ability to understand our thought process. We can have insight into our emotions, our principles, and our motives and answer the question of why. By knowing this we are then able to change our emotions and actions or reactions in certain situations.

Reflecting on Ourself

We develop self-awareness through self-reflection. During solitude in a quiet environment, we can clearly analyze ourselves. Our bed, a comfortable chair, a bath or even a peaceful place like our garden is ideal for questions and answers. Documenting our answers in a journal is a simple and organized way for self-reflection exercises.

The questions we ask can be regarding a specific event to certain thoughts or reactions we’ve had or just in general regarding traits. Some questions may be easy to answer and some will be more difficult.

  • Why do I act this way?
  • Why do I think this way?
  • Why do I like this person?
  • Why do I want to be accepted by this person?

The questions to follow should be ‘what’ ‘where’ and ‘who’. More specifically, what could we have done differently? Where do I really want to be in life? Who inspires me? Once something we would like to change is identified, ask how we are going to make this a reality.

Be aware that we can reverse the benefits of self-reflection by overthinking. Our mental well-being is at risk when we dwell on one thought cycling through our mind without an apparent solution. If we are stuck on a train of thought, we should declare it’s time to stop or enforce a time limit before starting the exercise.

Body Scan Meditation

“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.”

– Buddha

Meditation is when the mind concentrates on one single point. The original tradition of Vedic, recommends different methods of both physical and psychic. This is for the total absorption of the mind. Our mind is constantly full of thoughts, feelings, and impressions, and just impossible to be empty. We can find a focus point to hold our stare or we can close our eyes completely.

Keeping our spine straight, arms and legs uncrossed (unless in the lotus position) all we have to do now is breathe. Inhale for 1, hold, exhale for 2, inhale for 3, hold, exhale for 4, and etc.

With a total body scan mediation, we do the breathing exercise as before, but we gradually expand our awareness to encompass our body and environment around us. Starting with the way our toes feel in our socks or connected to the ground, and moving up to our scalp. Relaxing every muscle on the way up as we note the sensations we feel, this type of mindful meditation connects and aligns us in tune with our body and spirit.

Meditation is a great way for us to bring clear thoughts and go within. While meditating, our mind is quiet and we can be more open to hearing and receiving answers from higher energy sources.

Mediation is basically hanging out with our soul.

Start from the Center

Dream Journal

The unconscious holds messages speaking to us through symbols and dreams. Everyday chatter makes signals hard to be heard. Unconscious messages appear to us in our dreams in a form of coded symbols. Becoming more open to these messages by recording our dreams will familiarize us with the workings of our minds. Keeping a notebook by our bed to write down our dreams upon waking allows us to decipher our unconscious mind over time.

This opens an easier dialogue between the conscious and unconscious mind.

Using Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy has become increasingly popular, and for good reason. The benefits of using aromatherapy include alleviating anxiety and stress and improving mood.

Creating ambiance before self-awareness exercises can ease our mind into relaxation and make it easier to concentrate and easier to keep a positive mind.

Flowers produce soothing essential oils that promote loving senses. Floral scents like ylang-ylang, chamomile, jasmine, rose, basil, and lavender are relaxing and help us voice unexpressed thoughts.

Healing Crystals

When trying to stabilize our mood to prepare for an inward journey, healing crystals can be beneficial. Working with crystals can relax our process by emitting energies rid stress and promote calmness. Crystals can raise our vibration aligning a greater connection to our higher self and spirit. They can clear negative energy and create harmony in our environment.

An abundant different kinds of crystals exist, all with different properties.

Pinterest is an excellent, smart way of finding and learning all about crystals. If you’re not on Pinterest yet, you’re missing out.

Empower and Improve

Admitting and accepting who we are and our limitations help us better ourselves. Once our weaknesses are identified, we can expand and grow. We may discover that our words or actions actually go against who we wish to be and form a solid foundation on what we consider to be important to us.

When we are aware, we are living in the here and now. This is one of the greatest qualities of our spiritual life. Self-discovery puts us more in tune with our mind, body, and spirit. During this transformation, we develop self-worth, confidence, and empowerment.

The self-discovery journey is different than any experience we’ve had. It’s exciting to gain clarity on who we are and it’s a continuous learning process.

Without self-discovery, we pass on the opportunity for fundamentally understanding who we are and what we want to achieve in life.

Hibrations!
