About the Rose

Fossil records show roses are one of the most ancient flowers. The Chinese are said to be the first to cultivate them.

Currently, there are over 100 species. The rose has been a staple of romance and a famous wedding choice.

This flower is known as “The Queen of all flowers.”

Roses are red, pink, yellow, white, and bi-colored. Today, they are dyed in many colors. Pink roses are a classic. They are the first color cultivated and the most common in the wild.

Roses are the highest vibrating flowers! This makes it perfect to keep on your altar, sacred space, or nightstand.

Ways to Use Roses

Are Roses Magical?

Yes! Roses have magical properties that you can use in witchcraft. Roses are naturally magic.

Of course, the most popular spell is a love spell due to the flower’s association with emotions.

But you can use them in any spell that suits you.

Roses are magical because they can convey deep emotions through their vibrant colors and delicate petals. They symbolize love, passion, and beauty, making them a timeless gift for special occasions.

Additionally, their enchanting fragrance and the mesmerizing structure of their blooms captivate people’s hearts and minds.

Alternatively, use the thorns in banishing and deflection spells. Put a single rose on your altar to amplify a love spell.

When your rose has dried up, use it in a charm bag. Recycling your ingredients increases their potency.

Colors

Communicate your intention and message through color.

Red represents masculine, and white represents feminine. Combine them to symbolize unity.

Red – used most for love and passion spells.

Pink – shows gratitude, elegance, romance, and happiness.

White – white is innocent and pure, representing sympathy.

Yellow – apology, represents friendship.

Put them in a Spiritual Bath

Infuse your spiritual bath with your intention for the rose. Usually, this would be a love spell, an attraction bath, or a self-love ritual. However, you can also use them to banish and cleanse low vibrational energy.

Bathe in them to balance your emotions and increase confidence.

Surely, you can use any form of roses in your spiritual bath.

  • fresh rose petals
  • dried petals
  • rose water

Using roses enhances the effects of love baths.

Using Magic Potions

potion bottles on a counter. Text overlay - Magical Potions

Magic potions sound like something a child would make, but they are quite real. It’s not just witches and spiritual practitioners using magic potions these days, either. Regular people are mixing these concoctions even if they don’t know it.

*This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. Read the disclosure here.*

What is a Magic Potion?

Undeniably, we all learned about a potion through some sort of magical scenario. Most likely a fable. My favorite childhood memory of a potion was the movie Death Becomes Her.

However, magic potions are real-life aesthetics that we love to make and use!

Potions are liquid spells. They are a fun and creative way to enhance our spiritual and magical experiences.

Surprisingly, these hot commodities are growing more popular every day. You don’t have to be a witch or a magic practitioner to make and use a potion.

Could we mimic the potion Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep took in the above-named movie? Not about the part where they live forever. But, yes, about the part about staying young.

A magic potion could be the healthy concoction you blend up every morning. Depending on your intention, even a smoothie could be magical!

Using Your Magic Potion

You can drink them, diffuse them into the air, put them in a bath, or anoint your tools with them.

Sometimes, just making the potion casts the spell. Or, pouring the potion out at a particular place is the spell.

Maybe you’re making a potion as part of a ritual ceremony.

Depending on your potion, you might need to activate it or charge it with the moon or the sun.

Always stir with intention or visualize the outcome. Say your incantation or affirmations so you can channel your energy into it.

Different Types of Magic Potions

Not all potions are made and used in ritual spells. As I said above, your potion can be an everyday drink like a smoothie. Simply charge a drink with the intention of good health or whatever you want.

Try this: When stirring your morning coffee, start counterclockwise to banish any lingering energies trying to attach themselves. Thanks for yesterday’s lessons.
Stir clockwise to bring new, abundant energies to the new day. Seal it with a symbol like a pentacle.

The same tip applies to a cup of tea. Matter of fact, there is an endless number of magical tea blends to try.

For non-drinking potions, you can put them into an oil diffuser using a cleansing or banishing spell. Or add to your spiritual cleansing bath.

Approach potion-making with responsibility and a deep understanding of the ingredients and their effects. Always prioritize safety.

How to Make a Potion

Pick any liquid for the base for your potion and have fun experimenting with your recipe.

  • water
  • tea
  • coffee
  • juice
  • alcohol

There is an endless number of ways to make a potion and even more things to add to it. Consider the mystical property of everything you add.

  • herbs
  • crystals
  • ashes
  • oils

Choose herbs and crystals that correspond to your intention. For example, use basil for a money potion and rose quartz for love.

Potion Safety

Please be aware of the potential risks associated with the ingredients used in a potion!

Be sure to research the ingredients of your potion and know everything you’re ingesting.

It’s crucial to know the properties, side effects, and allergies you could have to every ingredient. Do your research on all herbs, crystals, oils, and all other substances.

Purity and quality should be known!

Some healing crystals can be toxic when wet. Not all essential oils can be ingested, and some have to be diluted when used on the skin.

Certain oils can be used internally if up to date with current regulatory guidelines. Check the brand of essential oils that are safe for ingestion when following the label directions.

Properly label your potions. Some ingredients may require refrigeration or be stored away from sunlight. Be mindful of the shelf life of the ingredients.

How Do Crystals Work?

A woman's face holding a glowing quartz crystal to her head. Text overlay - How do healing crystals work?

Crystals develop over millions of years under significant geological pressure, leading to intricately structured lattices. Consequently, these formations provide crystals with distinct physical properties. But how do healing crystals actually work?

*This post may contain Amazon or other affiliate links. If you need to read the full disclosure, go here.*

If crystals can influence physical systems in scientific applications, it’s plausible that they affect biological or energetic systems, even if the mechanism isn’t fully understood.

History of Healing Crystals

Firstly, healing crystals have been used in spiritual and medicinal practices for thousands of years.

Ancient Egyptians adorned themselves with lapis lazuli and turquoise to promote protection and well-being.

Similarly, Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine utilize gemstones to harmonize energies. Across the globe, indigenous cultures have incorporated stones and crystals into their rituals.

History shows us various cultures use crystals for their healing properties. They integrate them into practices like meditation and mindfulness, for enhancing focus and intention.

The lasting presence and broad acceptance suggest a collective acknowledgement of the tangible effects of crystals.

How to use Healing Crystals

By all means, crystals are tangible symbols of intentions, like healing, love, or calmness.

Holding or wearing a crystal can:

  • anchor mindfulness practices
  • hold symbolism
  • are physical reminders
  • is a tool for grounding
  • protect you during energy work

All crystals feel like nature’s gifts but there’s one crystal worth giving a shout out to ~ selenite.

Selenite remains in high vibe all the time. It cleanses other crystals and is self-cleansing!

Put selenite in your space and it will wash away any stagnant energy. Selenite creates a positive atmosphere for your healing or practice spaces.

If your other crystals are arranged nearby, they’ll soak in selenite’s cleansing vibrations.

Crystals & the Human Body

Did you know our bodies are similar to quartz? Every cell in your body has a geometric crystalline structure!

A vibrational property of quartz called piezoelectricity is found in the human body. So, even we can discharge electric pulses and interact with an energy field.

When compressed, quartz crystals generate an electrical charge. This property is used in watches and electronic devices, because they can withstand high temperatures and conduct energy.

Quartz can convert mechanical energy into electricity with force. It’s used in timekeeping, broadcasting, computer engineering, and sound healing.

Millions claim to experience genuine benefits from using crystals. Although personal anecdotes are not scientific evidence, similar experiences cannot be disregarded.

How do Crystals Work?

Crystals function by directing positive energy into the body while eliminating negative energy. This process resembles other alternative therapies that balance energy levels.

Essentially, each crystal has a distinct vibrational frequency, influenced by its molecular structure. These vibrations engage with the body’s energy field, or chakras, giving physical, mental, and emotional wellness.

Truly, just like electromagnetic waves and quantum mechanics seemed mysterious before their discovery, some think crystals’ effects could stem from phenomena we don’t fully understand.

Maybe someday quantum entanglement or vibrational theories could explain how energy and intention interact with crystals.

Healing Crystals Work!

Although science can’t validate that crystals possess inherent healing abilities, their physical characteristics, cultural importance, psychological effects, and interactions with energy fields create a strong argument.

However, even skeptics acknowledge that if crystals inspire well-being and positive change, their impact is undeniably real to those who experience it.

The Power of Journaling

Journaling is an outlet for thoughts and a way to keep a record of certain events. But did you know that journaling can positively impact a variety of outcomes? Journaling is the most recommended tool for mental health wellness! For this reason, let’s dive into the power of journaling.

*This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. If guided, read the disclosure.*

So Many Types of Journals

Ultimately, keeping a diary is just writing stuff down. Truly, journaling is so much more.

If you’ve been on planet Earth for six months, you know that the hottest fashion statements are self-love and self-awareness. In turn, you probably journal…a lot.

There comes a time when the soul has reached the furthest point in its experience of separation. Because of this, more of us are turning inward to tame the ego personality and reconnect with the soul.

This therapy can train your mind for mental clarity and emotional stability. You can get into the habit of replacing anxiety with serenity and peace.

Journaling allows us to let go of all the restrictions, beliefs, and limitations that keep us stuck.

Logging messages from the universe is no different. It helps to decipher messages later on.

Spiritual Baths

Our electromagnetic field gets clogged with other people’s energy. When this happens, we will resonate with that low frequency and feel it weighing us down. To avoid damaging effects, clearing yourself is important. Spiritual baths are a great way to cleanse your energetic field.

*This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. You can read the full disclaimer here.*

Why do we like Spiritual Baths?

Our aura is protection from outside energy but they slip through. Other people’s energy accumulates in our energetic field. If we’re weighed down by the accumulation of energies our auras weaken. It’s a good spiritual practice to regularly cleanse this space.

It’s important to remember that we share the same realm with spirits. If we’re vulnerable, we give attachments an energetic way in.

Before doing any type of spiritual work we should put a shield of protection around us.

Just like we wash our hands before we eat, we should wash our energetic fields before interacting with the world.

Ultimately, a bath is very grounding, and being grounded is important.

And, most adults choose a bath versus a shower for relaxation. Baths are good for sore muscles and blood circulation.

Read Grounding & Earthing

Taking the time to prepare a bath and set an ambiance in the room is self-care. You’re healing your mind, body, and soul during this time.

Also, this is the perfect time to set an intention and manifest. Do you want to attract, banish, cleanse, or release something?

How to Prepare Your Bath

It’s important to remember that you don’t need anything but your intention to take a spiritual bath.

But, I like to add correspondence to support my intention:

  • flowers
  • essential oils
  • herbs
  • healing crystals (check if the crystal is water safe)
  • salts
  • spices
  • bubbles
  • citrus fruit

Declutter your bathroom and sanitize the tub. Clear out all energy and low vibrations in the room by smudging, an oil diffuser, or using a singing bowl.

Choose things to add around the tub and room.

Mindfully add everything to the running water while thinking of your intention.

If you just want to relax while soaking up the energy of the bath, bring a journal, a magazine, and a cup of tea.

Take a Spiritual Bath

It’s important to have good spiritual hygiene. Baths are a simple way to revitalize and support your healing.

Spiritual baths reset and restore your energetic field. Soaking in your intention and natural elements from mother earth on a regular basis to maintain your energetic work.

Tried Moon Milk?

Anyone interested in wellness and holistic practices have run across pictures of the pretty nighttime drink, moon milk. Moon Milk is rooted in an Ayurvedic pseudoscience tradition. It’s commonly made with milk, herbs, spices, and dried flowers. The milk provides sleep-inducing amino acids as it soothes you before bed. Why should you try Moon Milk? Because it’s delicious and a natural remedy for a host of things!

*This post contains Amazon and other affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure.*

What is Moon Milk?

Old school parents offer a glass of warm milk when their children can’t sleep. This remedy went through an upgrade called Moon Milk.

Read The Magick of Moon Milk.

Moon Milk is fiber and protein rich and full of nutrients. It’s said that drinking a warm glass of milk before bed can regulated hormones, relieve stress, and strengthen the immune system.

About Moon Milk Ingredients

Milk

Cow’s milk is often used but can be substituted with dairy-free, plant-based milk.

  • Cow’s milk is the traditional moon milk and will give you a creamy flavor.
  • Almond milk gives a nutty flavor.
  • Coconut milk gives a creamy flavor.
  • Cashew milk

Ayurveda practice teaches to boil cow’s milk first to help with digestion.

Adaptogens

We load up on caffeine during the day and rely on sedatives to wind down. This wreaks havoc on the body. Anyone serious about a self-care routine should check out the benefits of adaptogenic herbs.

Adaptogens are powerful herbal medicines that have many uses and advantages. They give the biggest benefits by being modulators. This means they regulate our systems to achieve the balance we need.

Adaptogens work on the endocrine system, which balances hormones. They decrease the cumulative effects of stress on the mind and body and in turn, we cope better with hectic schedules.

Basically, these group of plants will help the body adapt to stress and other ailments.

Adaptogens have been used for centuries and are heavily researched. They are currently used in evidence-based medicine.

Overall, adaptogenic herbs provide these benefits:

  • stabilizes mood
  • reduces anxiety
  • improves sleep
  • boost immune system
  • boost stamina
  • supports the liver
  • reduces sugar cravings
  • supports muscle tone
  • balances blood sugar
  • contains antioxidants that protect us from free radical damage.

Adaptogens are commonly added to moon milk to provide all

Ashwagandha

Popular in the wellness realm is Ashwagandha, or Indian ginseng. It’s used for a variety of ailments ranging from stress and anxiety to diabetes. It’s the primary adaptogen in moon milk.

Because Ashwagandha regulates cortisol rhythms, it promotes calmness. It also supports a healthy nervous system.

In Ayurveda, Ashwagandha is known to promote longevity, happiness, and vitality. It’s a popular tonic to improve memory and support hormonal function.

Surprisingly, ashwagandha can help you with abundant energy and a peaceful sleep.

It adapts to your body’s needs.

Still not convinced? Read 5 Ashwagandha Studies You Should Know.

*Caution* Ashwagandha is a strong substance and isn’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Sweeteners

Honey

The benefits of honey are crazy amazing.

Read Hale & Hearty Honey.

To truly take advantage of all the magic honey has to offer, you should try local, raw honey.

Healthy Fat

Healthy fat is the saturated kind.

  • coconut oil
  • avocado oil
  • ghee
  • olive oil
  • organic grass-fed butter

Read how these good fats support the body and brain.

Now, let’s address the cons of moon milk ingredients. There’s honestly only a couple for me.

Firstly, the ingredients can be confusing. Keeping track of the many different properties of herbs and adaptogens is too much for some people.

Also, the price of just one ingredient may be over your budget. However, keep in mind that all ingredients can be used to create so many other things.

The versatility of everything listed is worth it in the end. And believe me, you won’t stop at just preparing moon milk!

Get Creative

Certainly, this potion is malleable.

Get witchy with it and use the meaning of the key ingredients when concocting your recipe. For example, almonds promote fertile ground for change and new goals.  Almond milk can be your preferred milk. Therefore, its the base for your intention of change.

Additionally, its fun to add it to ritual like divination. Drink it to promote more clarity or even use it as your scrying mirror. In like manner, read the settled flowers at the bottom of your mug.

Get extra with your spiritual baths and enjoy a cup while you soak.

How to Make Moon Milk

Above all, your recipe can be a simple concoction of milk and honey or a variety of herbs, spices, flowers, and fruit. Sometimes seeds and nuts are also added.

Choose your ingredients:

  • Dairy milk or non-dairy, plant-based milk – Almond, Oat, or Coconut
  • Adaptogens – Ashwagandha, Maca, or Reishi
  • Collagen Petites – Improves the health of hair, skin, nails, joints, and tendons
  • Sweeteners – Maple Syrup, Raw Honey, Agave Nectar, or Coconut Nectar
  • Healthy Fats – Coconut Oil or Ghee‘
  • Herbs or Culinary Flowers – Chamomile, Lavender, or Rose
  • Spices – Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, or Tumeric

Follow this base but modify it to your unique preference.

  1. Combine 1 1/2 cups of milk with 1 teaspoon of each ingredient in a pot.
  2. Heat on medium.
  3. Strain (optional) into a mug.
  4. Froth 1/4 cup of sweetened milk and top your moon milk if desired.
  5. Top with additional herbs, flowers, or spices.

Want to enjoy your milk chilled? Simply skip the heat and pour over ice!

Make yours as creatively gorgeous as you like!

Tip – Oat Milk has natural melatonin which promotes relaxation. It also contains Tryptophan, a sleep supporting amino acid.

Full Moon Milk Recipe

Just like the full moon raises the tides, it gives us heightened emotions and intuition. It enhances what we are.

The moon’s influence on human life really is amazing.

Spiritual people like to work with the heightened energy and perform a ritual during the full moon. This can be done by writing out and releasing what no longer serves you, taking a spiritual moon bath, or simply nourishing yourself with moon milk.

Rituals are just a series of actions and don’t have to include witchery! So, don’t be put off by the idea if you have other beliefs.

Honor the Moon with your Ingredients!

Using butterfly pea flower allows us to manipulate the color of the milk. I like to steep the petals longer to achieve a sapphire color. It reminds me of the bailage ring that shines around the full moon.

OR we’ll contribute to the blue color with blueberries. They are a water element, and the moon controls the ocean.

  1. In a small saucepan bring a little over 1/4 cup of water to a simmer.
  2. Sit it aside to steep butterfly pea flower tea. I use a glass tea pot. Alternatively, you can add the botanicals straight to the water in a saucepan and strain or use a tea infuser.
  3. If you’re using the blueberries, add blueberries and honey to a small saucepan. Smash. Cook on low until berries soften and become squishy. Press through a fine mesh sieve. Reserve the liquid and discard the pulp.
  4. Heat the milk up on low heat with the blueberry liquid, more honey (optional), and ashwagandha. Whisk until warm.
  5. Pour into a mug (I use a clear mug to take in all the pretty colors)
  6. Pour in the butterfly pea flower tea
  7. Froth 1/4 cup of milk or cream and add to the top
  8. Sprinkle cardamon and garnish with flower petals

Instantly download the recipe here! No catch, no subscribing, just a freebie!

Why Moon Milk?

So, why moon milk? For one thing, we eat and drink with our eyes first. This pretty beverage is hard to pass up.

I love how creating different recipes allows me to experiment with different herbs. If you’re looking for a good way to incorporate healing herbs into your diet, here ya go!

Truly, the full moon is the time of culmination of self-care. Self-care is an important part of a spiritual practice.

Even if just creating a nighttime ritual helps you associate moon milk with winding down, you’ve succeeded!

Pretty Drinks

Wooden Cup with a yellow pretty drink.

Who hasn’t had their news feed flooded with colorful drinks lately? I admit that I am a huge fan. I enjoy seeing them, making them, and drinking them. But some are full of sugar and calories, so health-conscious people steer clear of them. Of course, you can still enjoy them. I’ll show you how to tailor your pretty drinks to fit a spiritual diet.

* This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure. *

What is a Spiritual Diet?

To be clear, a spiritual diet doesn’t mean you have to cut out sugar!

A spiritual diet just means to keep yourself as clear of debris that interfere with being the best version of you.

This includes anything you ingest – drink, food, and the things you feed your mind.

Pretty Drinks

What is a pretty drink? Most might think of colorful Starbucks drinks. But, don’t forget about moon milk, lattes, and more!

I’m obsessed with all of the above.

You can create and re-create any drink at home and cut excess sugar and calories.

Starbucks Drinks

While I love the convenience of a Starbucks drive thru, I do not love excess sugar and price tags!

Recently, I discovered that Starbucks has a “secret menu”. I seem to make it my mission to try them all.

Finally, the $10 price tag on my last visit brought me back to reality.

Starbucks refreshers are healthier than most other Starbucks drinks. To make them even healthier at home, just lower the amount of syrup or sugar, or use Stevia to sweeten.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll most definitely visit Starbucks again. But I want to be mindful and frugal. It’s a lifestyle change.

Butterfly Pea Flower Tea

Such a pretty and healthy drink!

Butterfly Pea Flower has an impressive quality when responding to acid.

Add lemon juice and watch the color change from a deep blue to magenta!

Drink it hot or cold, and even make lattes and moon milk!

Pretty Moon Milk Drinks

I am in love with moon milk for many reasons. It’s spiritual, healthy, and gorgeous.

Pretty Lattes

Purple Pretty Drink in a clear mug with frothed milk on top and rose petals.

Essentially, a latte is coffee with milk. However, you can make a latte with tea too!

Just add brewed tea, milk, and sweetener.

Pretty Smoothies

Light purple and dark purple latte's sitting beside each other in clear mugs with handles.

The reason I drink so many smoothies may be because I love to look at them.

It’s true that smoothies are a different kind of pretty drink. They’re practically a meal replacement.

The fact remains that you can seriously dress up this drink. With all the different fruit combinations, your smoothie can deliver the maximum pretty.

What do you think about Pretty Drinks?

To sum up, you can always enjoy a pretty drink!

There are so many options to partake in. Even if you’re on a no sugar diet, a spiritual diet, or no diet!

Therefore, get creative and design an artful cup of pretty drink!
