Crows Are a Higher Intelligence

A crow with a pentacle in it's beak.

Enchanting Animals: Corvidae Family – Crows, Ravens, Jays, Magpies

Crows and the whole Corvid family (songbirds) keep proving to be smarter and smarter. These magical creatures adapted to a human-dominated world and learned a great deal. They’re so smart, their intelligence is compared to a 7-year-old human’s! Prepare to be astonished at the higher intelligence of crows.

*This post contains affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure here.*

Bird Brain Power

Due to multiple signs of intelligence, research has proven that crows are one of the smartest birds. For example, they are self-aware and practice self-control. Therefore, they can complete a series of events to solve puzzles.

Certainly, the bird brain insult doesn’t apply to crows! After all, they have their own version of a human cerebral cortex. A study published in science finds that crow brains are neuron-dense. Despite their small size, it’s estimated to be 1.5 billion. This is on par with apes.

Scientist and researchers conduct behavioral test to measure their intelligence.

Moscow State University and University of Iowa collaborated a study. They discovered that crows exhibit behavioral signs of analogical reasoning. We develop this form of cognition around 3 or 4 years old.

Crows have long term memory including facial recognition. They tell the other crows which humans are nice and mean to them.

Crow’s Creativity

Scientist observed crows figuring out casual relationships. For example, a variation of an Aesop’s Fable where a thirsty crow figured out how to raise the water with pebbles.

In this study, six wild crows were able to determine how to obtain floating food rewards. They deposited heavy objects into water-filled tubes and were able to choose objects that sink rather than float! What’s more, they selected tubes with high water levels and solid objects rather than hollow ones.

This demonstrates their preference for the reward with the least amount of work.

It is true that their creativity doesn’t stop there. These aviators are so creative, they know how to fashion and use tools!

Surprising Higher Intelligence

Crows have a super reputation for being clever. Just how clever may surprise you.

Crows have an interesting relationship with wolves. A crow will mimic the call of a wolf to lure it to a carcass too big to pick open. This is why it’s said that crows eat with the wolves.

What’s more, when crows can’t crack open nuts, they drop them at busy intersections. When the light turns red, they safely grab their food! How’s that for clever?!

More facts to illustrate how crows are scary intelligent:

  • they love to play
  • signal to each other
  • fashion tools
  • recognize human faces
  • bring their favorite people gifts
  • trick each other
  • hold grudges
  • talk to each other
  • visit their parents
  • mimic other animals
  • are fair with portions

Surely, this list could go on and on.

Crows are Scary Intelligent

Without doubt, crows are scary intelligent. Their ability to understand analogies is impressive enough. These guys understand basic cause and effect casualties that pre-k children struggle with.

Crows structure strategies for problem solving. This trait is also found in dolphins and chimpanzees.

They imitate sounds, other animals and can be taught to talk! Matter of fact, crows speak their own language.

Remarkedly, they can pick a face out of a crowd and have exceptional knowledge.

Crows & Ravens Are Different

You may be surprised to learn that crows and ravens are two different species. These birds inhabit North America, and subspecies inhabit other parts of the world.

Here are some ways to tell them apart:

  • crows are smaller
  • a raven has a larger, hairy beak
  • you’ll find ravens more in woodland areas
  • crows are louder

Certainly, all amazing facts here apply to both birds.

Crow Magick

The spiritual meaning of a crow is different in many cultures. Of course, superstition associates the crow with death. However, they represent death and rebirth so be sure to use spiritual discernment.

The raven’s call, cras, cras, translates to tomorrow in Latin. So, perhaps this is why they are known as seers of the future.

The Celtics and Native Americans viewed the crow as a symbolism of profound knowledge and intelligence.

They’re also viewed as shapeshifters because they can adapt to different situations.

The Crow symbolism includes mystery, mischief, transformation, fearlessness, and of course, higher intelligence.

Crows are teachers and a sponsor of magick.

Remarkable Intelligence

Although they have a negative place in fiction, certainly, crows are remarkable. I’m grateful to learn about these extraordinary birds and eager to share.

The next time you see a crow, show it the respect it deserves.

With the Highest of Love & Blessings,

7 Plants for Intention

Whenever we call on the element of earth, we are calling on the magick of nature. How magical is putting a seed into the earth and having it grow into life? Therefore, if you’re enhancing your spiritual awareness or working on your craft, find the best suited plant to help with your intention. Here’s a list of 7 plants for intention.

*This post contains affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure.*

Spiritually Working with Plants

When we work with plants we work with the energy of natural sources. We can go beyond the plant itself and work with land and nature spirits too.

Because they have consciousness, forming a spiritual alliance with a specific plant is best accomplished with a living plant. However, dried plants retain power too but lack conscious intelligence.

To form the strongest bond, grow the plants yourself. Let the plant know what you want from it as you nurture it. Then, they become your partners.

Just like farmers have been doing since the beginning of time, many spiritual people plant herbs and flowers according to the lunar cycle.

Truly enjoy the mindfulness of gardening and experience the joy of nature.

7 Plants for Intention

Ivy

Ivy is linked maternally with protection. For instance, houses covered with ivy are protected by the plant. Keep an ivy plant in your house and the vines capture negativity.

Ivy grows in the shape of the sacred spiral. The twisting vine is linked to fidelity in relationships.

Use ivy to set an intention for protection. Wrap it around a photo of yourself or loved one that you want to protect.

Basil

Also known as the “witch’s herb”.

Basil is sacred in Hinduism and has many connections to health protection, wealth, and luck.

Make an herbal spray with a basil infusion to spray around your sacred space. This will cleanse and raise vibrations.

Ancient connections to witchcraft gives basil so much versatility. Similar to writing intentions on bay leaves and burning them, write on a basil leaf.

If basil is something you’re interested in, check out this basil grow kit.

Rose

Fun fact – the first roses only had five petals and was shaped like a pentagram.

This old plant has been cultivated over the years to be bigger and more vibrant. Specifically, it’s connected to love and passion.

Use roses to make rose water, oil to anoint candles, or perfume.

It’s common to set an intention for love with roses like using roses in love potions. However, start thinking about the rose’s other characteristics. It curls up tightly and grows thorns to keep us out.

Most don’t know the rose is also the symbol of secrets. Sub rosa, – confidential, only spoken under a veil of secrecy.

From this perspective, use the rose to set intentions to keep something hidden or safe.

Lavender

We fall in love with the properties of lavender because they evoke feelings of relaxation and peace. With its positive vibration, lavender alleviates stress while freshening the atmosphere. As a result, we gain a peaceful sleep.

Wearing lavender will protect you from the evil eye. Hanging lavender near your front door will stop negativity from entering your home.

Use lavender for a multitude of things:

Lavender is so versatile, it can help you set multiple intentions.

There’s really no reason not to grow your own lavender with so many uses and spiritual benefits.

Daisy

He loves me, he loves me not…

Remember playing this game with a daisy? Daisies are associated with young love and innocence. After all, they promote a sunny outlook and happy plans.

In fact, the daisy just looks happy. Therefore its given at happy times or when someone could use some cheering up. Do the same for yourself and add daisies to your self-care ritual.

Set the intention to find joy with fresh daisies. Put a daisy on your altar or in your bedroom and feel the positive energy shift.

Clover

Legend says finding a clover allows you to see hidden nature spirits and faeries. The Celts used a shamrock as a symbol of their knot work. It’s also used to represent the balance of threes: gods, goddesses, and time.

Environmentally, clover is beneficial. It encourages pollination and improves soil.

Although its obvious to use clover for luck, they also help with communication and matters of the mind. Burn dry clover leaves and set the intention as the smoke lingers.

Garlic

Garlic is best thought of as a strong flavor in spaghetti or repelling vampires. However, garlic is used medicinally and adds great benefits to our major organs. Try hanging garlic in your kitchen to encourage healthy cooking.

Ancient Greek and Roman soldiers used garlic for courage. Likewise, eat something garlicy while setting the same intention.

Truly, garlic remains the reigning warding agent. As such, add it to spell bottles or a talisman to ward something or someone off.

Plants to Set an Intention

Ultimately, you can find a plant to support any intention you have.  Observing nature is a powerful learning tool and incredibly calm. Growing and working with plants is very spiritual.

For that reason, take interest in interacting with nature whether or not you have a garden!

Grow Healthy, Eat Healthy, Live Healthy.

Lightworkers & Starseeds

Lightworkers and Starseeds have a purpose to shine their light and assist others. During this time of mass awakening, it’s common for them to help others with inner evolution.

*This post contains affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure.

Lightworkers

Lightworkers have healing souls and some feel called to healing activities. They’re found amongst the talented in psychological, emotional, and spiritual healing. Overall, they’re always down to improve lives.

These souls have an attractive positive frequency. They like to live mindfully, sustainably, and in love. Eventually, they move away from drama and gossip.

Starseeds

What are Starseeds anyway? Many are rolling their eyes reading that term but, that’s the term and it fits. Starseeds are advanced souls that chose to reincarnate at this time. The purpose is to bring knowledge to increase planetary awareness.

Their vibration is at a different frequency that allows access to certain information. They are here to advance the planet and create a new world.

Signs of a Starseed

  • more creative
  • excel academically
  • hard to follow rules
  • innovated
  • excess energy
  • psychic
  • extensive sight/hearing
  • sensitive intuition
  • very sensitive
  • want to change the world
  • difficulty working in groups
  • mature quicker
  • larger pupils/sharper eyes

Coming out of the Spiritual Closet

Of course, now is the time for lightworkers to mount up and spread the values of humanism. Being a lightworker doesn’t have to be a complex lifestyle change. Equally important, some are meant to show their light and be an example. If as simple as standing in your truth and speaking up for injustices.

Other lightworkers utilize their divine gifts for the benefit of all. In like manner, this could be healing, guiding, teaching, and counseling.

With this intention, don’t let skeptics discourage you. People are naturally cynical about energy healers and psychics. Maybe overcoming that fear is your initiation of sorts. Because as lightworkers, it’s our job to show and tell. It’s more important than ever to grow the lightworker community.

To Lightworkers & Starseeds

Author of the  Light Is the New Black,  Rebecca Campbell suggests self-care enhances your abilities to help others. Equally, raising consciousness requires that you continuously raise yours.

*Read 17 Ways Lightworkers Can Shine*

Consequently, staying grounded and doing clearing work is vital for lightworkers and starseeds. To be fair, those are vital activities for everyone but serving others requires spiritual hygiene.

Stay on top of your center game by working with crystals, earthing, and meditation. Similarly, Zen Gardens are fun and here’s a cool alternative:

Get Yours Here

Use the Magnetic Water Meditation bottle as an alternative to a dry landscape Zen Garden. The bottle holds water, sparkles, magick, and MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) toner. Using the bottle gives the same benefits as using a Zen Garden or meditating.

Healing Mother Earth Gaia is an important part of lightworking. The Glow with Gaia guided journal is a great tool to help lightworkers heal Gaia while doing their own inner work. Use the form to join our newsletter and get a free copy of Glow with Gaia via email!

Spending time with like-minded people gives you a support system. The spiritual path can be lonely anyway because it often costs relationships. If we no longer resonate with the vibration of others, they fall away.

Spiritual Awakening is a personal and unique experience. Therefore, it sucks to try to share the sensation with someone who’s never had one. Consequently, being in a community helps us get a better sense of our spiritual gifts and how to truly help others.

Highest Love & Blessings!

Grounding and Earthing

Earthing is sometimes called grounding but the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Grounding and earthing are similar. Earthing is grounding, but some grounding exercises can be done inside.

*This post contains affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure.*

Earthing is Physically Connecting to Nature

Disconnection with the earth’s energy can cause stress, anxiety, and illness. Walking barefoot will connect you to Mother Earth.

Truly, negative ions help balance out our positive ions. Walking barefoot will stimulate veins to activate the nervous system. Studies show positive effects the earth has on our brain activity.

Essentially, Mother Gaia balances the internal bioelectrical environment. Connecting with Gaia gives a boost to the physiological process. It slows down premature aging, helps you relax, and get better sleep.

Walking barefoot sends antioxidant-rich electrons into damaged cells that are causing inflammation and heart issues. The increase in oxygen can lower chronic pain.

Bathing in nature’s frequency will boost our own energetic bodies. It’s a natural remedy for depression, stress, and anxiety.

Earthing can:

  • alleviate menstrual cramps
  • reduce headaches
  • help us to be more mindful and improve our focus
  • protect from harmful electromagnetic and EMF effects
  • neutralizes free radicals
  • improve posture

Grounding and Earthing Clear Excess Lower Energies Stuck in the Aura

Stagnant thoughts and lower emotions hang out in the auric field. Thoughts are electrical and emotions are magnetic.

We can release positively charged ions to the earth. Grounding lets us discharge physical, mental, and emotional energy.

Accordingly, this helps to reach a calm, neutral state and balance.

Mother Gaia is a limitless supply of electrons. Regularly connecting with her will stabilize our own electrical environment for organs, tissues, and cells.

Grounding is especially important for:

  • Sensitive people
  • Intuitives
  • Empaths
  • Lightworkers
Click the list to instantly download & a list of ways to ground.

Connect Your Grounding Cord

Grounding will help when you feel anxiety.

First, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Imagine a cord emerging from your root chakra and growing into the earth.

See it travel all the way to the heart of Mother Gaia and anchor the cord there.

Next, imagine that she is sending her energy back up to you through the cord. Finally, let the cord travel up and anchor into your heart chakra.

Create and connect a grounding cord to Gaia before any spiritual practice, performing magick, or meditation.

Other Ways to Ground:

  • Eat root vegetables like beets, radishes, turnips, parsnips, carrots, sweet potatoes, ginger, garlic, and turmeric.
  • Spend time gardening
  • Take a salt bath
  • Meditate
  • Reiki
  • Drink water
  • Using a Zen Garden
  • Using crystals like Black Tourmaline, Hematite, Black Kyanite, Shungite, Black Obsidian, Smokey Quartz, and Petrified Wood.

Are You Ungrounded? Get into the Habit of Grounding and Earthing!

Common signs that you’re ungrounded:

  • Hard to concentrate
  • Aggravated by most things
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Anxious
  • Easily distracted
  • Feeling anxious
  • Forgetful
  • Feeling powerless
  • Exhausted
  • Difficult to communicate
  • Clumsy
  • Misplacing things

Always keep in mind that none of the holistic modalities are to replace professional medical attention. If you struggle with anxiety, excess stress, suicidal thoughts, or chronic pain, seek medical attention.

Essentially, Moon Milk is warm milk mixed with a relaxing blend of herbs and spices. But, there is more to it than a comforting drink that will help you unwind. Coconut Oil is rich in fatty acids that aid in the creation and elimination of hormones. It’s hormone balancing and helps absorb vitamins and nutrients.

If you’re after alternatives to over-the-counter sleep aids, try adding sleep-enhancing spices like ginger, nutmeg, and black pepper.

Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is a popular adaptogen in Moon Milk. This small woody plant has yellow flowers and is native to India. It’s been a staple in Ayurvedic medicine for various ailments.

Adaptogens are a group of natural substances that modulate the body’s response to stress. It also balances bodily functions.

Ashwagandha is popular due to its optimization of the GABA neurotransmitter pathway. GABA improves mood, gives a sense of tranquility, helps with PMS symptoms, headaches, and deep sleep.

Just taking the time to prepare moon milk and sipping before bedtime is a great way to reduce anxiety and unwind.

The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.

What Is A Spiritual Diet?

Lady Gaia and all residing life forms are in evolution. Because of this, self-care is on the rise. Of course, living healthy is a great value to have anyway. But, more of us understand that what we put in our bodies directly impacts our vibration frequency. Therefore, we intentionally ingest things with a greater level of light than density. It’s referred to as a spiritual diet. So, what is a spiritual diet? It goes beyond food and drink.

*this post contains affiliate links. If guided, read the full disclosure.*

High Vibrational Foods

Raising our vibration isn’t just an important part of ascension. Truth is, maintaining a high vibration is essential for health and happiness. The universe is vibrational so our well-being is based on everything we do, say, think, and believe.

High vibration foods nourish the body, detoxify, and raise our vibe. For example, nutrient-rich foods like raw fruits and vegetables. Eating clean will increase the level of light we’re able to carry.

Use the form to get a High/Low Vibration food list plus two recipes via email. You’ll be added to Handbook for the Recently Enchanted newsletter and receive more useful cool stuff monthly.

Boosting Intuition

Having a poor diet combined with chemicals and pesticides from non-organically grown foods affects how we feel. We become sluggish, tired, and foggy. Eating clean allows us to think clearly.

Archangel Michael says we should start eating more alkaline foods for ascension. Alkaline diets are trending right now.

We are all composed of energy. The energy is constantly flowing and changing.

Chakras group energies and give them each a name.

The chakra system was designed to call forth and integrate Creator light energy into the body.

When chakras become blocked it destructs the flow of energy. This contributes to emotional and physical issues. Food is an often overlooked healer.

*Read How the Chakras Receive Intuition.*

We’re Ascending & We’re Taking our Bodies with Us

A spiritual diet goes beyond just food and drink.

This means anything we ingest – mind, body, and spirit.

The human body was designed to perform at its best from a position of love, peace, and harmony.

Archangel Michael

Stress levels increase blood pressure which creates stress upon all bodily systems. When at the center of well being, what we want to create comes to us more easily.

Identify the source of negative thoughts and surround yourself in white light.

Change lower thoughts to uplifting ones so you’re projecting balanced frequency patterns of thoughts and intentions.

Don’t Feel Badly for a Non-Spiritual Diet

A lot of things on the low vibrational food list are probably in most kitchens. That’s ok!

Who doesn’t have sugar, dairy, or canola oil? The key here is to be mindful and start swapping certain foods out.

Don’t feel guilty or shame yourself for eating anything. This will amplify the negative effects.

If you love coffee as I do then you’re probably upset to know that excessive caffeine is low vibrational. But, don’t panic! Consider trying a coffee replacement like Teeccino or Anthony’s Chicory Root Coffee Alternative.

Whatever it is you consume, consciously infuse it with high love and light before. Flow love while you prepare it and raise its vibration.

Consider a Spiritual Diet

Spiritual growth can get blocked by toxic thinking and low vibrational foods.

Get the most from a high vibrational diet and combine foods with inner work, emotional healing, and living in your personal truth. Taking this action will quickly elevate your spiritual awareness.

Start by checking out the Free Resources Page.

When doing transmutation work, you should start by getting into a state of relaxation. This allows you to release your mind but still focus on your intention. Something to consider is incorporating a nightly ritual. I recently started a moon milk ritual and so far I’m pleased with how I feel.

Ultimately, an increase of vibration comes an increase and speed of manifestations. It also expands our point of view.
