Tarot card reading is highly in demand amongst the spiritual community. It is a form of divination that muggles view as hocus pocus. However, those who live a magical life know how real and useful it is. Here are all the reasons why I love tarot.

Tarot Card Readings

Notably, tarot readings are known for fortunetelling. People who aren’t spiritually informed call these readings fantasy.

If you’ve never had a tarot card reading, I suggest you try it. Every non-believer I know enjoyed it.

As a matter of fact, I’ve introduced many to the YouTube world of tarot. Please, try it out for yourself. On YouTube, search for your zodiac sign + tarot card reading.

Give it a try out of sheer curiosity!

Tarot readings have fascinated people for centuries. Their popularity continues in the modern era for great reasons.

When seeking personal guidance and insight into challenging situations tarot readings can give perspective or reassurance about the paths available.

Humans have an innate desire to know what the future holds. Tarot offers a way to explore the future despite the understanding that psychic predictions are not concrete.

It’s fun to connect with a community that shares spiritual exploration. Many people enjoy this experience with friends.

Essentially, tarot cards provide a unique blend of art, tradition, guidance, and introspection.

About Tarot Cards

There are 78 cards in a traditional tarot deck, each with a different spiritual energy.

Each card in the deck holds symbolic meaning and represents different aspects of life and emotions. Practicioners select and interpret the cards through guidance and clarity.

The history of tarot cards is rich and complex. They likely originated in the 15th century in Europe, specifically in Italy. Initially, tarot cards were used for playing a game called tarocchi and not for divination purposes.

Of the 78 cards, they are divided into the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana, with the former containing 22 trump cards and the latter divided into four suits.

Over time, tarot cards began to be associated with mystical and esoteric traditions, shifting toward their use in divination and fortune-telling by the 18th century. They have since become an integral part of various metaphysical practices and are often used for personal insight and guidance.

Not every reading will resonate with everyone. Undeniably, you will know if that reading is for you or not. It will be something you feel.

Surprisingly, a card reading isn’t just about predicting the future. It’s a spiritual experience where you get relevant guidance.

It is important to note that tarot card reading is a personal and intuitive practice. The interpretation of the cards does vary from person to person.

Tarot can help you explore the subconscious mind, spiritual growth, and connection with the divine.

Use it for personal insight or help others in their spiritual practice. Tarot reading is a powerful and transformative tool. And it’s fun.

Tarot Magic

One of the reasons why I love tarot is because it is so versatile.

You don’t need to be a tarot reader or know how to interpret the cards to use them in energy work or witchcraft. Simply placing a card on your altar or sacred space will channel the energy you’re looking for.

Create your tarot spell by choosing a card that best supports your intention. You can go by the card’s meaning or pick the one you’re guided to.

You can use it in a fire spell and burn a copy of the card.

Tarot magic combines the mystical power of tarot cards with the practice of magic. It taps into the ancient wisdom and energy of the tarot to manifest desires, gain insight, and connect with higher realms of consciousness.

Tarot magic is often used in spellwork, ceremonial practices, and meditation.

Ultimately, tarot magic helps you with self-reflection, problem-solving, and decision-making.

I Love Tarot

Essentially, I love tarot because it’s magical. Tarot magic brings positive changes and empowers me on my spiritual journey.

Ultimately divination is a kind of magic. This is because you’re using a magical tool to find answers from paranormal sources. Almost all witches use tarot or some form of divination daily.

Integrate Your Mind, Body, and Spirit

Tarot readings can contribute to overall well-being by aligning mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects.

Empowerment

Ultimately, tarot is a tool for empowerment, guiding you to take charge of your life and make purposeful decisions.

There are many ways to do tarot readings. Sometimes other tools are used to clarify the cards. Like, charms, tea leaves, or runes.

You also don’t have to be surrounded by mystical things to have or do a tarot reading.

When deciding if tarot is right for you remember that it’s both nondenominational and multi-denominational. This means it’s open to people of any religious belief. It can develop your understanding of your spiritual path and give you spiritual insight.

What do you think about tarot? Do you love it too?

Multi-Day Spells

spell jar at an altar

Multi-day spells are workings that span across consecutive days. They add extra effort and allow you to build up more energy. Is a multi-day spell right for you?

*This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. You can read the full disclosure here.*

What is a Multi-Day Spell?

Multi-day spells require dedication and continuous effort. Typically, specific actions will be performed over the course of several days. Each day you’ll build upon the previous day’s work.

For example, you can add herbs, chants, candle magic, draw sigils, or visualization.

These spells often require careful planning to ensure enough time and energy to commit to the duration of the spell.

Notably, these spells often involve ritualistic practices. For example, creating an altar or a sacred space to cast for a while.

Why do a Multi-Day Spell

Try this type of spellwork for complex intentions. They allow you to work an ambitious spell without draining your energy.

Essentially you can recharge, and ground between casting so you’re not exhausted.

Another reason is to get a clear idea of developing your goal. A multi-day spell could help you stay fully focused.

This type of extended casting keeps a continuous connection with our intent. This can amplify the spell’s effectiveness and our connection to the desired outcome.

How to do a Multi-Day Spell

If you’d like to give it a try, here is a basic guideline.

  • Set a clear intention.
  • Collect all tools and ingredients.
  • Determine how many days you want your spell to last.
  • Create a sacred space.
  • Begin your spell.
  • On each subsequent day, return to your sacred space and repeat the steps or enhance it.
  • On the final day, close your spell and be thankful for all the energies invoked during the process.

Multi-Day Candle Spell

Multi-day candle magic is a popular way to manifest over the course of days.

Notably, a vigil candle or a pillar candle is burned for 3, 5, or 7 days. However, do your spell as long as you feel guided.

Basically, it involves lighting a specific colored candle and meditating on your intention. Additionally, you can add a petition for what you’re asking for.

woman doing a spell jar at an altar

Essentially these vigils or pillars are used commonly in spellwork. They can represent an eternal flame on your altar or represent a God or Goddess. Additionally, they can stand in for the elements.

You can do these spells as elaborate as you’d like, but below is a basic version to get you started.

  • Choose a candle color representing your intention, or make your own.
  • Light the candle each day while focusing on your intention. Meditate, visualize, or say affirmations.
  • Allow it to burn for a specific amount of time, however long resonates with your spell.
  • If using a petition paper, fold it and put it under the candle.

Research your tools and ingredients to understand their properties before incorporating them into your craft.

Remember, your magical practice relies on your own beliefs and intentions.

Hermit Energy

The Hermit is a card in the tarot deck associated with wisdom and discovering the truth. This post will teach you how to channel the energy of the Hermit.

*This post contains Amazon and other affiliate links. Read the details here.*

The Tarot Deck

Interestingly, the tarot deck is used for playing games as well as for the purpose of divination.

Modern tarot decks can be traced back to the 15th century. Truly, there are countless amazing decks, but the Rider-Waite is the most used.

Basically, you don’t have to be a magic practitioner to use this collection of seventy-eight cards.

White t-shirt with a hand holding The Moon tarot card.
The Moon Tarot Card

Keep in mind, it doesn’t matter which deck you use or where you get it from. The magical thing about the medium is the way you interact with it.

The cards merely provide a tangible way to connect your power and intuition.

Certainly, there are many different ways to use the tarot.

Hermit Tarot Card

This is the ninth trump or major arcana in the deck. Ultimately, the Hermit’s lesson is that all answers are within.

The Hermit card is associated with the sign of Virgo, which both have ties with work. Further, accomplishment and achieving your goals are highlighted.

However, the meaning of the card is vast but steady:

  • your highest guidance within
  • introspection
  • gaining wisdom
  • self-reflection
  • spiritual awakening

Be aware of the cons of the card’s meaning:

  • isolation
  • feeling lonely
  • withdrawal
  • invisibility
  • paranoia

As can be seen, the Hermit is depicted in many different ways by different outstanding artists.

In the Rider-Waite deck, the Hermit stands in a long, black cloak with the hood partially hiding his face.

His right arm is extended and he’s holding up a lantern. It’s lit by a six-pointed star.

His left hand holds a tall staff.

Channeling Hermit Energy

So, we’re going to channel the energy through an intention-setting art magic spell.

Basically, we’re going to call on the Hermit’s qualities through corresponding words.

What you’ll need:

  • wooden craft lantern (I got mine at Dollar Tree)
  • the Hermit tarot card
  • paints
  • paintbrushes
  • sharpie

Clear the Energetic Debris

Start by smudging yourself and the area using any sort of smoke bath:

Alternatively, simply imagine the bright, white light of the divine filling the room.

Next, ground yourself by imagining roots growing out of your root chakra. See it connecting to the Earth’s core.

Protect Yourself

Finally, encircle yourself with a bright, white light. Thank your angels for keeping you safe.

Now, you’re ready to connect with the energy of the Hermit.

Spell Crafting

At this time, breathe in the energy of the Hermit. When ready, write your intention on the lantern with a marker. Remember, this can just be the qualities, or what you want that energy to do for you.

When you’re finished, paint the lantern to seal in your intent.

Finally, thank the Hermit for helping you.

Why Channel Hermit Energy?

Truthfully, you could channel the Hermit energy for lots of reasons like soul-searching and self-development.

An introspection phase is suggestive of the Hermit. Therefore, are you looking for answers within? Or, maybe the Hermit has shown up as a guide.

It’s important to be still and listen after asking these questions.

The Evil Eye Explained

In some cultures, a jealous glare can cast a curse called the evil eye. We’ve all seen the beautiful evil eye amulet but do you know its history? Read on for the evil eye explained.

*This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. If needed, you can read the full disclosure here.*

Where did the Evil Eye come from?

This hex dates way back to 1180 BC during the late Bronze Age and likely earlier. Greek classics mention it in more than 100 works.

The earliest written references are on clay tablets, dating from the third millennium BC. Exceptional quality agate beads, used to protect the wearer against the influence of the evil eye, were also discovered in royal Sumerian graves in Ur.

There is a strong belief in the evil eye in many places:

  • Europe
  • Central America
  • Latin America
  • Mexico
  • West Asia
  • South Asia
  • Central Asia
  • East and West Africa

Also found in the Islamic doctrine and practiced by Muslims.

My sister traveled to Greece and saw it worn as jewelry by men and women, applied to children’s clothes, and displayed at local places. She brought me a makeup bag with the symbol and Lucky soap.

Additionally, it’s painted on Turkish Airlines planes.

soap with the evil eye. Print - The Lucky Soap.

The Curse

Ultimately, this is the easiest form of a curse to cast. In fact, most people are unaware of the harmful energy they’re projecting.

Any envious person can unconsciously send that negative energy to another through a malicious stare. Truly, the thoughts we have literally form an intention.

When we’re mad and have high adrenaline, we are pushing that energy through our veins and projecting it on someone else. This happens when you’re in an argument and you intentionally wish someone ill will.

Be aware of the unseen evil eye that is caused by intense jealousy. You never know who is hiding their feelings and really wishing bad fortune on you.

Surprisingly, it’s quite easy to cast an evil eye. People with blue eyes are said to bestow the evil eye even when not on purpose.

Protective Magic

besoms with the evil eye charms on them

A common way to avert the curse is to wear a nazar. This symbol is used to protect you and everyone in your household from negative energy being sent your way.

Means of Protection:

Objects and charms are enchanted for protection. Protective amulets and talismans are used in folk religion.

This symbol is often incorporated inside other talismans, like a hamsa. Also, we often see it inside the Hand of Fatima.

Basically, this symbol protects you from harm thrown your way.

Truthfully, crafting a talisman yourself is more powerful because you infuse your own energy into it.

I made evil eye protection besoms as talismans for my sisters to hang near their front doors.

Altogether, this works well because besoms are used to cleanse and prepare a ritual space by cleaning out the negative energies.

Spiritual Baths

Our electromagnetic field gets clogged with other people’s energy. When this happens, we will resonate with that low frequency and feel it weighing us down. To avoid damaging effects, clearing yourself is important. Spiritual baths are a great way to cleanse your energetic field.

*This post may contain Amazon and other affiliate links. You can read the full disclaimer here.*

Why do we like Spiritual Baths?

Our aura is protection from outside energy but they slip through. Other people’s energy accumulates in our energetic field. If we’re weighed down by the accumulation of energies our auras weaken. It’s a good spiritual practice to regularly cleanse this space.

It’s important to remember that we share the same realm with spirits. If we’re vulnerable, we give attachments an energetic way in.

Before doing any type of spiritual work we should put a shield of protection around us.

Just like we wash our hands before we eat, we should wash our energetic fields before interacting with the world.

Ultimately, a bath is very grounding, and being grounded is important.

And, most adults choose a bath versus a shower for relaxation. Baths are good for sore muscles and blood circulation.

Read Grounding & Earthing

Taking the time to prepare a bath and set an ambiance in the room is self-care. You’re healing your mind, body, and soul during this time.

Also, this is the perfect time to set an intention and manifest. Do you want to attract, banish, cleanse, or release something?

How to Prepare Your Bath

It’s important to remember that you don’t need anything but your intention to take a spiritual bath.

But, I like to add correspondence to support my intention:

  • flowers
  • essential oils
  • herbs
  • healing crystals (check if the crystal is water safe)
  • salts
  • spices
  • bubbles
  • citrus fruit

Declutter your bathroom and sanitize the tub. Clear out all energy and low vibrations in the room by smudging, an oil diffuser, or using a singing bowl.

Choose things to add around the tub and room.

Mindfully add everything to the running water while thinking of your intention.

If you just want to relax while soaking up the energy of the bath, bring a journal, a magazine, and a cup of tea.

Take a Spiritual Bath

It’s important to have good spiritual hygiene. Baths are a simple way to revitalize and support your healing.

Spiritual baths reset and restore your energetic field. Soaking in your intention and natural elements from mother earth on a regular basis to maintain your energetic work.

How often do you take a spiritual bath?

What is Scrying?

If you’re new to the enchanted world of witchcraft or a spiritual journey, you might be interested in scrying. So what is scrying? It’s ancient divination where you see the unseen by gazing at a reflective surface. Just like the iconic image of a fortuneteller and her crystal ball, you too can learn this practice. However, the tools you can use are vast.

*This post contains Amazon and other affiliate links. You can read all about the details here.*

Scrying History

Scry: /skrī/ verb

scrying

  1. foretell the future using a crystal ball or other reflective object or surface. “a mirror used for scrying”

Origin early 16th-century shortening of descry – “catch sight of“.

Essentially, scrying is a form of divination. This technique of seeing images are messages from the divine or supernatural.

They appear on some sort of surface. The most popular ways to scry are into a crystal ball, a mirror, and water. However, you can use any surface, and my favorite way is smoke.

It’s safe to say this practice has been around for a long time. The art of scrying appears throughout history around the world.

In ancient Egypt, people would put a drop of oil on their thumbnails to obtain spiritual wisdom. In short, they looked into the shiny surface for images from the spiritual realm.

*Scrying Wikipedia*

Why Scry?

Although its most commonly believed that scrying is for the purpose of seeing the future, keep in mind that the future isn’t set in stone therefore it can only be speculated.

So, if you can’t see the future then why scry? So you can receive messages and spiritual guidance! Also, you use your second sight and reveal the unseen.

Another reason to scry is to connect with nature spirits. I love to see what’s happening around me in the spiritual realm. Especially the faeries!

Faeries and nature spirits show up in my photos all the time while I scry.

Scrying just might be your gateway to all your psychic gifts!

How to Scry

You should practice scrying in a dark room preferably at night.

Ultimately, there isn’t a formal uniformity to follow. In other words, there is no right way to scry. Matter of fact, over the many ages, more ways to scry have been discovered and taught.

Likewise, you don’t need any tools or fancy skills at all. Divination is always available to everyone.

Undoubtedly, anytime you’re tapping into unknown energies from the spirit world, safety measures are important.

Clear out Energetic Debris

Start by smudging yourself and the area to clear the energy. You can use any sort of smoke bath to smudge:

Alternatively, you can use the light of the divine to clear out energies.

Simply imagine a bright white cloud of smoke filling the room. See it enter from one spot and grow until the entire room is white and cloudy.

Get Grounded

Next, ground yourself. Whenever you’re doing spiritual work it’s a good idea to ground your energies.

To begin with, simply imagine red roots growing out of your root chakra. See it pierce the earth’s surface and grow through the rock and rubbish to the center of the earth.

Protect Yourself

Once this is done, set the intention of only connecting with beings of love and light.

Next, encircle yourself with a bright, white light of the divine. Thank your angels and guides for keeping you safe.

Scry, Baby!

Finally, just relax and be open to receiving.

Scrying can be used to ask questions. You can communicate with a certain spirit, like your ancestors. Or, you can just direct the question to the spirit realm and your guides.

If you have a specific question now is the time to state it. Now, softly gaze at your medium and try not to blink too often.

Keep in mind that when we’re scrying, we’re using our third eye. Or rather, “second sight”.

Therefore, turn your focus inward and allow any images to form and present themselves. Notice any sensations or visions.

Scrying Medium

Particularly what should you use to scry? This depends on what you prefer!

The most common scrying tools are the crystal ball, and mirror. But, there are many alternative tools.

We know the fortuneteller uses her crystal ball, but have fun exploring scrying with:

  • crystals
  • mirror
  • bowl of water
  • candle wax
  • candle flame
  • tea leaves
  • smoke
  • fire
  • clouds
  • oil

I love to use smoke as my scrying medium. In particular, a sage smudge stick.

To point out, they’re bigger than incense so you’ll have more smoke to work with. Provided that you keep blowing on the fire, you’ll be able to generate a lot of smoke.

Modern Day Scrying

Another way I like to scry is by using the mist in an oil diffuser.

I gaze at the mist as it flows out and around.

Depending on your intention, you can use a specific oil. For example, you could use clove oil for protection, or, eucalyptus for purification.

Cedar and Frankincense are good for enhancing psychic abilities and connecting to the spirit world.

I gaze at the mist and take in all the shapes and forms I see. Then, I snap some pictures on my cell.

Doing this allows me to really study the photos and appreciate all that shows up.

The best time to review the pictures is when it’s the darkest outside. Make sure the room is completely dark and the lighting from your phone screen is dim.

Slowly increase the brightness so you can discover better images while you zoom in and out.

Record the Messages

You should consider recording any messages even if it’s just experimentation. You might decide later to make scrying a permanent practice.

Spend some time journaling about what you felt and saw. Remember, not all messages might be clear at first. Spirit communicates through metaphors and symbolism. That’s up to you to decipher.

Spiral Notebook with a picture of a Woman meditating with blue butterflies lifting up her hair. My Highest Guidance Within text overlay in blue.

Journal Everything!

Develop Your Scrying Abilities

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see anything at first. Eventually, you’ll learn the best methods of enhancing your focus and sharpening your visualization skills.

With practice, you’ll become familiar with ways of receiving messages.

Keep in mind the way you prepare both your environment and yourself can help to achieve optimum results.

Tell me your favorite divination practice!
